Printer Driver Installation Guide


* For the Windows Server 2008 users : Windows Vista screens are used in the examples where the installation
process is common to the Windows Vista and the Windows Server 2008.

1 Click Control Panel from Windows Start menu.

2 Opening the Printer Window


Click Printer from under the <Hardware and Sound> menu.
* For Classic View Click Printers.

Click Add a printer.

Right click the mouse in the Printers window, select [ Run as
administrator ] -> [ Add Printer].

If this screen appears, click Continue .

Add a Printer
4 Click Add a local printer.

*For USB setup, see the Windows Vista : USB Print Driver Installation
Guide.

Choose a printer port


5 Choose Create a new port and, select Standard TCP/IP Port from the Pull-
down menu, then click Next.
*For Parallel Port installation. Choose Use an existing port, and select the
LPT port you want to use, then click Next and Skip to Step 8.

Add Port
6 Choose TCP/IP Device from <Device type>. Enter the Hostname or IP address.
-After entering the Hostname or IP address, The Port name will be set
automatically.
Click Next.

7 Following screens may appear for some Printer Drivers.


Set the Port Information according to your network environment.

- Setting the Raw port :


Select the Standard and make sure the Generic Network Card is selected
from the pull-down menu, then click Next.

- Setting the LPR port :


Select Custom and press the Settings. button as illustrated.See next page
When the additional port settings are configured, click Next

Configure Std. Port Monitor


-Choose the LPR protocol and enter the Queue Name.
-Choose LPR Byte Counting Enabled then click OK.

8 Click Have Disk...

9 Click Browse...

10 Browse to the location where the driver files are


located on the PC. Click Open.

12 Select the printer Model from the list, then, click Next.

Type a printer name

Enter a Printer name in the Textbox, then click Next.

- If you wish to set this printer as the default, select Set as the
default printer.

If this screen appears, click Continue .

14 When the warning message appears click Install this driver software
anyway.

For Windows Vista Skip to Step 16.

Note: Although the drivers are not digitally signed by Microsoft


Corporation, we have verified proper operation within the Windows
operating system environment.

15 Select whether to share this printer in the network, and click Next .

Completing the Add Printer


16 Click Finish.

- Click Print a test page to test the installed printer.

17 A new printer icon will appear in the <Printers> window.
