FOR THE
JOURNEY Week 3 is wrapping up and across the school learning is well underway as staff and students have
enjoyed a full week in the classroom and down at the pool this week. Despite the cool mornings,
the good settled weather has helped as students swim and normal classroom routines are being
established. Thank you to all those parents who have been able to assist as helpers down at the
pool. Your contribution both in and out of the water is really appreciated.

Home and School

At the end of last year Home & School ordered 10 new picnic tables for
the children to sit on in the amphitheatre to be delivered just in time for
the new school year! Mr Harper was able to keep the best of the old
ones and place them around the school to give the children somewhere
to sit when they take their learning outside. The school is delighted with
the new tables and the opportunity this creates for extra outdoor seating
areas.

Our first meeting for this year is tonight (Thursday 16 February) at 7.30pm in the staffroom! Were looking forward to
hearing from Mark about some of this years plans in the classroom, and also discussing our next upcoming events.
Join us if you can for coffee, cake and a great chance to make a difference.

Buses
Remember to keep getting those blue bus forms back in to the office. We need all forms back for this
term in by Friday 24th February at the latest please to enable us to get our bus boards up to date and
working well. Thanks for your help with this. 2017 bus monitors have been appointed for all seven
buses and took part in bus emergency evacuation training yesterday with the NZ Police. We are
grateful for the important job these young people do each year to support the bus drivers and keep
our buses safe.

Positive Behaviour for LearningPB4L

This year our school wide focus is Champions. Students are currently learning about what it means to be a champion in
the classroom and developing their understanding of how we can all be champions through our attitude, and by always
doing the best that we can.
