Table 8 - Test Sequences and Requirements For Unscreened Separable Connectors (Excluding Shrouded Terminations)
This document outlines 14 test sequences and requirements for unscreened separable connectors, excluding shrouded terminations. It provides details on test methods from IEC 61442, including AC or DC voltage testing, partial discharge testing, impulse testing, thermal short-circuit testing of screens and conductors, dynamic short-circuit testing, heating cycle testing in air and under water, disconnect/connect testing, humidity testing, and final examination. Requirements include maximum partial discharge, number of impulses and cycles, short-circuit current levels, voltage levels, and humidity and temperature conditions.

Value of I d shall be declared by the manufacturer. 9) The test shall be carried out only when the cable is de-energized. 10) Test to be carried out with three samples in a test terminal box. 11) It is advised that the accessory is examined for signs of any of the following: (i) cracking in the filling media and/or tape or tube components and/or (ii) a moisture path across a primary seal and/or (iii) corrosion and/or tracking and/or erosion which would, in time, lead to failure of the accessory and/or (iv) leakage of any insulating material.
