PCMC-structural Condition Assessment Inception Report

Methodology of Condition Assessment

All the sites are visited and structures are visually inspected .

The overall structural system is studied. All visual signs of distress are studied and noted.
Visual observations/distress mapping is carried out as per following procedure.

Following distress is observed specifically

a. Structural cracks
b. Corrosion cracks
c. Spalling of concrete
d. Reinforcement corrosion
e. Reinforcement buckling
f. Leakage
g. Deflection

2. List of structures
A list of structures to be assessed for their structural condition will be prepared. Those
structures which can be hydraulically useful if retained will be investigated.

3. Observations

Ditress was observed in the following structures and hence they are specifically
mentioned. All the other structures are new and hence in good condition.

Kasarwadi phase I- the roof of digestor domes are in poor condition. The walls
are in good condition and can take load of membrane roof dome. Additional
central column from may be taken from raft slab for membrane support.

Kasarwadi phase I pump house roof is in highly distressed condition. It needs to


be removed and replaced with new

Bhatnagar Chinchwad- digestor dome roofs are in distressed condition. Walls


are ok for taking load of membrane roof load.

Chikhali STP- digestor dome roofs are in distressed condition. Walls are ok for
taking load of membrane roof load.

Chikhali STP- distribution chamber is in distressed condition. Strengthening will
be necessary.
