Bienvenue la classe de franais ! Welcome to French class!


This year in class we will be learning more about the French language, and the cultures
of the various places where French is spoken. Im very excited to be here, and to be
starting a new year of French!
The following expectations will serve as a guideline for you.

Requirements and Responsibilities


~Please treat your classmates with respect, kindness and courtesy.
~Please be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings.
~There is no gum allowed in class.
~Please raise your hand to answer or ask a question.
~Cell phones and other electronic devices are not permitted in class.
~Please stay in your seats until the bell rings.

Materials
~ A small binder or notebook
~ A folder
~ A blue or black pen
~ Your timbre or stamp sheet
~ Your French textbook, Discovering French Nouveau Blanc 2

Daily Procedures
~ Have last nights homework on your desk.
~ Start the Faites Maintenant also known as the Do Now.
~ Review of the Faites Maintenant.
~ Learn new material, and take notes.
~ Copy the homework for that evening.

Classwork/Participation
~ Counts as 10% of your quarter grade.
~ Being prepared for class is included in this grade (see Materials and
Daily Procedures)
~ You must participate!

Homework
~ Homework will be assigned most days.
~ It counts as 10% of your grade.
~ Homework should reflect the students best effort, handwriting and neatness.
~ There is a one-day opportunity to make up missed homework at credit back.
~ It must be labeled.

Tests
~ Tests comprise 30% of your grade.
~ All tests will be announced.

Quizzes
They count as 40% of your grade.
~ Most quizzes will be announced.
~ There will be a midterm and a final.

Writing
~There will be several writing assignments throughout each quarter, which will have
specific directions.
~They will be counted as 10% of your grade.
~***THE USE OF TRANSLATORS FOR WRITTEN ASSIGNMENTS IS STRICTLY
PROHIBITED AND WILL AUTOMATICALLY RESULT IN A GRADE OF ZERO.***

Absences/Lateness
~ Missed work due to an absence must be made up within one weeks time.
~ Unexcused lateness to class will result in a 1 point reduction of your
participation grade each time that you are late. Please be on time.

Extra Help
~ Extra help will be given Tuesdays-Friday mornings from 7:10-7:30. Extra help is also
available by appointment after school.
