Spirit Week
PRINCIPALS CORNER
Thus far we have used 3 snow days. Students please remember to stay away from the area
on the inside of the sidewalks near the roof of the school. Snow or ice could slide off the
roof and hit you in this area.
Thank you for your participation with our Parent Teacher Conferences. If you were unable to
meet with your students teacher please make arrangements to reschedule. Mahalo!
Ski Trip: If there are any parents that would like to drive for the ski trip, please let Mrs.
Pia know by January 27. Also, we are looking for 2 or 3 parents that would be willing to
make a crock pot of soup to take with us. Please let Mrs. Pia know if you are willing to
make soup. Thank you.
We will be sending an information packet and permission slips home on Monday, January
30, 2017. They will be due at the office by Friday, February 3.
Ski Trip Alternative: For those who are not going on the ski trip, school will be in session.
Come prepared to have a fun day at school. Free hot lunch of soup, crackers, clementines,
and cookies will be provided.
Fruit: If you ordered citrus from Pathfinders, your order will be ready for pick up TODAY,
January 26, 4-6 pm, at the warehouse.

GRADES K - 3
Spelling tests 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade:
Book It: Keep reading for Book It. Reports for January are due Monday, February 6, 2017.
A new report form for February is attached.
This year students will be required to finish assignments by the due date. Please help your
student keep current with their work.
GRADES 4-6
Bible: Unit Test
Reading: New books, Week 3B Spelling List
Language Arts: Book reports on books read
Read Aloud: Bible: Mark 15/ Poems from the Bible
Math: Chapter 4.8-4.9 (Gr. 4)
Science: See Science for Grades 7 & 8 Mr. Mendez is teaching Science this quarter
Social Studies (Gr. 4 & 5): Ch. 9
World Studies (Gr. 6): Ch. 9
Geography location: Quiz online to be continued.
Computer printout of weekly grades and missing work is given every week.
Outdoor Ed is planned for Feb. 21-23, 2017. This is for grades 5 & 6. The cost is
normally $50 per student but, due to the fundraising the students have done, each
student will only need to pay $25. The registration forms will be coming home soon.
