Introduction
Important safety precautions
Please read the following notes carefully before doing any work on the device.
This device complies with the relevant safety regulations for information processing
equipment.
Note the warning and information labels on the device.
The device is equipped with a safety-tested power cable, which must be connected
only to a suitable grounded outlet.
Always hold the plug when removing the power cable. Never pull the cable itself.
Install cables in such a way that they will not be stepped on or tripped over or damaged
or crushed in any way.
Have damaged power cables replaced immediately.
Make sure that there is always free access to the sockets used or to the electrical
circuit-breakers of the house installation.
In case of an emergency (e.g. damaged cabinets, controls or power cables, liquids or
foreign objects in the device) take the following steps:
Deactivate the device immediately by:
Switching off the automatic circuit-breaker or removing the fuse inset from the fuse
holder in the distribution box of the building installation;
Disconnecting the plug connectors of the power supply cables from the grounded

General power interrupt
Introduction
General power interrupt
Frontload
A general power interrupt has the following effects:
All current transactions are immediately aborted
(exception: transport of the ID card).
Depending on the parameter setting, ID cards are either output, retained
or transported to the ID card reject tray. This transaction will be properly
completed.
Dispensed banknotes remain in the transport paths of the cash-out
module. They are transported to the collecting tray or the reject cassette
after the device is switched on.
Open the front door and lift the customer panel up (see chapter "Basic Operation",
section "Opening / closing the doors").
Disconnect the power cable from the left rubber
socket at the rear of the power distributor.
To ensure that the entire device is disconnected from power, you must also pull the
plug of the power cable from the wall outlet or interrupt the power supply in the
distributor box of the building by switching off the circuit-breaker or by removing the
fuse.

Initializing the cassettes
The initialization of the cassettes is necessary in case of new types of banknotes or
cassettes. With the initialization the system will be informed about the cassette number,
the currency and the value of the banknotes. If necessary, you can enter more
parameters.
Please observe the product-specific and bank requirements concerning change of
standard or individual changing of cassettes. Please obtain this information from the
banks administration.
Determining the reference value
The determination of the reference value can be performed for a maximum of 40 different
unknown banknotes. It is controlled by the product-specific software.
The reference value determination is required for:
Initial operation
Use of new banknote types.
Activate the product-specific software (see chapter "Basic Operation", section "Calling
the product-specific software").
From the specified cassette the currency characteristics, the value of the banknotes and
the emission date will be read out. These values are transmitted to the cassette when it is
initialized. There will be as many bank notes dispensed as necessary to determine the
reference value. The process of determining the reference value will be terminated at the
latest if the reference value cannot be determined within the maximum possible number of
notes. After the reference value has been determined, the dispensed number of notes is
reported back to the system.
The dispensed notes are in the stacking compartment.

Meaning
Too many bundle rejects
(x = dispenser module position)
Measure
Bundle rejects are performed if the
photosensors in the measuring station have
identified a wrong banknote.
The cause can also be extremely skewed
banknotes or banknotes which have been
extracted in an uncontrolled fashion or
problems with photosensors.
This error can be ignored the first time it
occurs (warning). If the error keeps
occurring, please proceed as follows:
Remove the cassette from dispenser
module x and check contents of
banknotes:
Is the correct banknote type in the
cassette? Are the front banknotes
deformed on one side? Is the pressure
against the front banknotes even on the
right and on the left side?
With the cassette removed check the
dispensing area in the dispenser module
for stuck banknote scraps (see section
"Checking the cash paths in the dispenser
modules (status message / code 18)").
Check the transport path from the
cassette x to the stacking compartment
for stuck banknotes / banknote scraps
(see section "Checking the cash paths in
the dispenser modules (status message /
code 18)").
Check the plug connectors at the central
cash-out controller (ZAC).

Function test
Press the function pushbutton on the ZAC to start tests and to reset the AZM. To start a
test function, the cash-out module must be in normal mode. 00 is then shown on the
status display.
When you press and hold the function key, 00, 1, 2 and 3 are shown on the status
display. What these numbers mean is described in the following table. To start a particular
sequence, release the key when the status display shows the relevant value.
The functions described in the following sections can be performed only when the
safety switch is closed (i.e. the AZM is in cash-out position). Functions 2 and 3
may be started only from normal operation (display 00) or when all transport
paths are guaranteed to be free.

Function description
The AZM is being powered up with ' shown on the status
display (for approx. 10 seconds). If an error is detected
which prevents or endangers the operability of the AZM (dirty
photosensors), the relevant error or a warning is displayed
on the status display.
This test function is identical to the power-up test when the
AZM is pushed into the dispensing position (closing the
safety switch).
In this test all mechanical AZM components are operated
one after the other. If an error is detected, it is displayed on
the status display. The lifting magnets for the single reject
switch and the retaining shafts as well as the
electromagnetic clutch can only be subjected to a visual
function test in this case. If no errors are detected during the
test, a RESET is then carried out.
With this test the cash paths and the dispensing function of
all inserted and filled cassettes are checked: First a
banknote is extracted from the top cassette and transported
via the single reject switch to the reject compartment. Then
one banknote is dispensed from each cassette, transported
from the stacking compartment to the standby position (the
shutter remains closed) and then to the reject compartment.
If an error occurs, it is displayed on the status display. If no
errors are detected during the function, a RESET is then
carried out.

TH21
TH22
The TH21 / TH22 printer is a compact printer with a thermal printing unit, integrated cutter
and a presenter.
The paper path is controlled by several paper sensors. The printer is equipped with
sensors which indicate the remaining quantity of paper (weekend supply) and the end of
the paper supply. The paper supply can thus be monitored with the user software.
The printer models TH21 and TH22 are operated in the same manner. The difference
between the two models is that the paper width is greater for the TH22; also, it has an
additional connection for controlling an external shutter.

Receipt Printer ND9C / ND9G
The thermal receipt printer ND9C / ND9G is a modular printer with a thermal printing unit,
integrated paper cutter and a 120 mm presenter for variable receipt length.
The receipt printer generates documents to user software specifications, e.g. receipt slips.
The receipt printer is equipped with sensors which report paper-low status (weekend
supply) and paper-out status so that the paper supply can be monitored by the application
software.
In contrast to receipt printer ND9C (or ND9E), which uses text-oriented printing (ASCII
printer), receipt printer ND9G can only print with graphical orientation (pixel-oriented) (GDI
printer).
ND9G processes paper rolls with the thermal layer and the control marks on the inside
and the outside of the wound roll.
The thermal layer and the control marks must always be on the same side.

How the DIP hybrid reader works
How the DIP hybrid reader works
Depending on the application software, the magnetic tracks are read either when the ID
card is inserted or when it is pulled out (reading on insertion is the standard).
Therefore it is important that the ID card is pushed in and pulled out in one smooth
motion.
If the chip card function is used, the card is automatically locked in the insertion slot and
released after processing is completed.
The meaning of the LED indicator above the card insertion slot is defined via the
application software. Therefore it cannot be described in this manual.
The module is designed in such a way that inserted foreign bodies (coins, for example)
can fall directly through the insertion slot to the bottom of the device.

Environmentally friendly product design and development
This product has been designed according to our corporate standard Environmentally
friendly product design and development.
This means that crucial criteria such as long life, choice of material and its labeling,
emissions, packaging, ease of disassembly and recyclability have been taken into
account. This saves resources and relieves the strain on the environment.
Saving energy
Please switch on devices that need not be constantly running only when they are actually
needed. They should also be turned off when they are not needed for longer periods of
time.
Disposing of used consumables
Dispose of printer consumables, batteries, fluorescent tubes and cleaning and
maintenance materials according to national regulations (where relevant complying with
vendor specifications).
Labels on plastic case parts
Please do not stick any labels on plastic case parts since that would make recycling more
difficult.
