Students are asked to write a 3-5 page paper predicting how a recent scientific discovery or new technology not yet incorporated into products will be developed into future products. If working in teams of 2, students should write a 6-10 page paper. Papers will be evaluated based on the boldness of predictions, clarity of arguments, and originality of thinking. The assignment is due December 8th at the start of the last class.

Product Development Fall 2016 Assignment #3
Pick a recent scientific discovery or new technology of interest to you. Try
and pick a discovery or technology that has not yet been incorporated into a commercial product. Please write a 3 to 5 page paper outlining how you expect this discovery or technology will be incorporated into future products. Include your best guess of timing. Your papers will be evaluated on the basis of: - The boldness of your predictions (in other words, dont pick a trivial discovery.) - The clarity of your arguments. - The originality of your thinking. You may work in teams of 2, if you so choose. In that instance, please write 6 to 10 pages. This assignment is due at the start of the last class of the semester, December 8. Please, no exceptions.
