Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:
This artifact is a copy of the student self evaluation form that I use for student led
conferences, and the parent conference information sheet that was sent home before
conferences. Both of these artifacts are examples of how I provide feedback to parents
and students in a timely manner. Parents are given the opportunity to come to
conferences twice a year and see how their child is growing at school. During these
conferences students have a chance to talk to their parents about what they are
learning at school, along with areas of strength, and areas they would like to improve.
Reflection on the artifact:
Both of these items have worked very well in my classroom, they actually work very well
together. I had three parents that did not sign up for a conference time in October. I
emailed them with potential times and only heard back from one. The other two I sent
home the parent information form about conferences with a time on it. They both ended
up being able to work with that time so I got to see all 24 of my students at conferences
with at least 1 of their parents. This was a great experience and way for me to provide
constructive feedback to both parents and students.
