GeoDesign - Info Session Flyer

This course offers students the opportunity to conduct research with international GeoDesign experts in the Netherlands from May 30th to June 30th 2017 and apply principles of Dutch urban planning and environmental design to address a societal challenge in Los Angeles. During the two week field experience in June, students will participate in a GeoDesign case study in Amsterdam Noord and work with Dutch practitioners and faculty. An information session will be held on February 1st and applications are due February 10th.

SSCI 350: International GeoDesign

4 units {problems without passports}


May 30-June 30, 2017

Conduct research with international GeoDesign experts in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and


Delft, and apply Dutch urban planning, geospatial technologies, and environmental
design principles to address an LA-area societal challenge of your choice.
During the two-week field experience (June 10-June 24) based at Vrije University
Amsterdam, participate in a GeoDesign case study to develop a mixed-use green
circular economy lifecycle plan for Amsterdam Noord with Dutch GeoDesign
practitioners and faculty from Vrije University Amsterdam and USC.
Information Session (with pizza lunch)

Funding: GeoDesign and other Dornsife majors may apply for Dornsife Summer
Undergraduate Research Fund (SURF)
