Estrés en La U

Stress is a common part of college students' lives caused by academic pressures, lack of time, difficulty managing responsibilities, and transitioning to independence. High stress levels negatively impact students' health, relationships, and development, with surveys finding most students feel overwhelmed and over half feeling desperate or lonely. Several factors contribute to stress, but poor organization is a leading cause, making it difficult for students to balance class, work, and other obligations.

STRESSFUL IN COLLEGE

Stress is the bodys reaction to physical, chemical, emotional, or environmental factors.

It is also a part of every students daily life.
CAUSES

There are many different causes of stress in college students today.

Pressure to perform well academically, and lack of time are just some of the

stressors students face.

NOT BEING ORGANIZED. One of the most common causes of stress in college

students is not being able to organize their work and priorities.

Many of them are forced to attend class and work as well.
If they go to university straight out of high school, they face the difficult challenge of
leaving home, separating from their parents, and beginning the process of finding

their own identity as an adult and their place in the world.

They need to manage a budget.

EFFECTS
Stress it can harm students health, happiness, work performance, relationships and
personal development.

Post-secondary students feel stressed, overwhelmed, lonely and some have even
considered suicide in the past year. More than 30,000 students were surveyed for the
report. Some of the report's troubling findings had to do with the level of stress and
anxiety experienced by students in dealing with their academic careers.
Nearly 90 percent of the students said they felt overwhelmed by what they had to do in
the past year, while more than 50 percent said they felt desperate and 63 percent felt
very alone.
The report also painted a grim picture on the subject of suicide, with 9.5 percent of
students saying they had seriously considered taking their own lives in the past year,
while 1.3 percent said they had attempted suicide.
I dont think people recognize just how much students have to juggle these days.
