Homework Policy
Homework is an important part of the curriculum and will be assigned and checked daily.
Students should study and practice their assigned vocabulary every night. In addition, a
cumulative homework grade will be given each week. Assignments will be posted every day in
the classroom and on the classs Google calendar, which all students will receive access to during
the first week of school. It is also the students responsibility to check for and write down their
homework for class each day, just in case there are issues with technology.
Late Work
In order to receive full points on any assignment, students will need to submit their assignments
on the day they are due. You will have an appropriate amount of time to complete and revise
major assignments and other homework assignments in the course. If you have any questions or
concerns regarding the assignment, please ask ahead of time. Do not wait until the last minute.
If an assignment is late, points will be subtracted. 10% will be deducted each day an assignment
is late. Assignments will not be considered late if the student has an excused absence.
Absences
Excused Absences You have as many days to make up any work for an excuse absence as days
missed. Although, if you are aware of an upcoming deadline and you leave for a school
sponsored event, you will still be expected to have your work ready the day it was originally due.
You will know what work is due before you leave for athletic and other club events.
Unexcused Absences Each day a student is absent without a valid excuse on a day an
assignment is due, 10% will be deducted from the overall score. At my discretion, larger
assignments can be made up for partial credit depending on the circumstance.
Throughout the course of the semester, you will have a couple of projects, class discussions,
group and individual presentations, homework, and quizzes. At any time, you or your
parents/guardians may check your grades on Canvas. Please allow at least two weeks for major
projects or assignments to be posted with feedback. Students and parents will be able to check
grades at home or at school.
