Capacitance is formed in a transmission line due to the separation of conductors by an insulating medium. The capacitance of a two bundle 3-phase line with flat horizontal spacing of 7m, 7m, and 14m between conductors over a length of 50km is calculated using the formula for capacitance of a transmission line. For a single phase line where one conductor carries a charge of 30micro coulomb/km and the other -30micro coulomb/km, with a conductor radius of 0.35cm and distance between conductors of 2.5m, the voltage between the conductors is calculated using the formula relating charge, capacitance, and voltage.
