Job Description - Linen Porter
Department: Housekeeping
Location: TBC
Hours of work: Variable. Usually shift work, 5 out 7 days depending on business needs. Flexibility
required to work alternative / additional hours as required, work on weekends and bank holidays.
PURPOSE:
To support housekeeping department by working in linen room and ensure sufficient linen are
available for daily operations. To maintain required productivity and required standards in
housekeeping department.
The role of a Linen Porter is a practical and manual job which includes bending, carrying, standing
and pushing/pulling equipment.
MAIN DUTIES:
Ensure the delivery of clean linen to designated areas in the hotel by specified deadlines
Ensure the collection of soiled linen from designated areas in the hotel by specified
deadlines
Check all linen cupboards on a regular basis and ensure they are maintained in a tidy,
organised manner and fully stocked
Keep the service areas clean and tidy
Wait for the linen delivery at the times specified by the hotel
Bring all the dirty linen to the linen room, classify it and count it
Return damaged linen ensuring it is accounted for by following the required procedure
Pushing and pulling of linen trolleys throughout the hotel
Assisting with guest request or queries
Following departmental procedures
Liaising with team members, Supervisors, Managers and guests
