Priorities Time Management Maxwell

The document discusses time management and priorities for leaders. It contrasts the approaches of professionals and amateurs, noting that leaders must know how to get what they ought to want by prioritizing responsibilities and tackling high importance tasks first. The document outlines a four-quadrant approach to categorizing tasks by importance and urgency, and advises leaders to initiate contact, plan ahead, invest in people, and fill their calendar according to priorities rather than requests.

success.
2. The ability to juggle three or four high-priority projects successfully is a must
for every leader.
a. High Importance/High Urgency: Tackle these projects first.
b. High Importance/Low Urgency: Set deadlines for completion, and get
these projects worked into your daily routine.
c. Low Importance/High Urgency: Find quick, efficient ways to get this work
done without much personal involvement. If possible, delegate it to a can
do assistant.
d. Low Importance/Low Urgency: This is busy or repetitious work, such as
filing. Stick it up and do it in a half-hour segments every week; get
somebody else to do it; or dont do it at all. Before putting off until
tomorrow something you can do today, study it clearly. Maybe you can
postpone it indefinitely.

contribution to the world.
1. Careful the petty and the mundane steal much of our time. Too many of us
