Poetry A Moralistic Analysis

The document provides a moralistic analysis of the poem "The Right to Be Me" written by a gay anonymous author. It discusses two main moral issues addressed in the poem: homosexuality and rejection. For homosexuality, the analysis cites biblical passages stating that homosexuals cannot enter the kingdom of God. For rejection, it references passages about not judging others. The overall moral lesson is that while homosexuality is considered a sin, homosexuals still have human feelings and deserve to be loved, accepted, and treated equally rather than abused.

A Moralistic Analysis of the Poem The Right to be Me

Homosexuality is a sin. Homosexual is somebody who is sexually attracted
to a person of the same sex. The poem that the critic analyzed is entitled
The Right To Be Me written by a Gay Anonymous. This poem talks about
the writers experiences one of this is Rejection it is because he is a
Homosexual. The critic notices some of the Moral Lessons and Moral
Issues in the poem like of course Homosexuality and Rejection.
The Best Approach to analyze this story is the Moralistic Approach. The
critic does not only analyze the importance of literature in the way it is
written but in what it says that affects man. As what Horace says A Literary
piece is not just for pleasure and delight but it also needs to be useful. The
critic used the Holy Bible as the moral basis in analyzing this poem. For
Homosexuality, some verses were stated in the Holy Bible that no sinner
can ever enter the Kingdom of God. It is in 1Corinthians 6:9-11. For
Rejection, some verses also stated that Do not judge others just because
they sinned so that God will not condemn those who condemn others.
One Moral Issue that critic notice in the Poem is Homosexuality. In
1Corinthians 6:9-11 says that no sinner will enter the kingdom of God one
of this is Homosexual people. It is stated in the first line of the poem that
he is hiding a secret forever for he knows that being a homosexual is a sin
and he knows that it would be hard for the people around him to
understand his feelings and emotions because he knows that
Homosexuality is a sin.
Rejection is also one of the moral issues that the critic notices in the
poem. The writer in the poem was rejected just because he is a
homosexual, he was judged unfairly. People dont have the right to judge
other peoples mistake. In Matthew 7:1-2 it says Do not condemn others,
and God wont condemn you. God will be as hard on you as you are on
others! He will treat you exactly as you treat them the critic thinks this is

what the writer wants to say based on his Title and at the last line of his
poem.
The Moral Lesson in this poem is that even Homosexual has feelings. Even
if they sinned they cry if hurt, they still need someone to understand them,
to love them and accept them for what they are. Because Homosexuals
are still mere humans no one is perfect. All sinners have to do is ask God
for forgiveness for God is merciful no matter how a person sinned. God is
still willing to help and forgive you if you just come to him and ask. It is
stated is the Holy Bible, Matthew 11:28 that if anyone who is tired and
weary just come to him and he will give you rest.
Homosexual people must be treated equally, though being a homosexual
is a sin, still people dont have the right to abuse and hurt them because
theyre still humans like normal people are and they have the right to be
treated fairly. The critic notice how a homosexual struggles. Yes, being a
homosexual is a sin but it is only God who has the right to punish them.
They still need a second chance because no matter how sinful a person is
God still loves him and is willing to forgive him if he only offers his life to
God.
