REMINDER FOR THE PROPER SEGREGATION OF WASTES

Good day.
Even though the correct color-coding for garbage bins is not yet
implemented in our institution, it is imperative that we STILL follow the
appropriate segregation of waste in each of our respective areas.
For your reference:
DRY, NON-INFECTIOUS WASTES papers,
containers, styrofoam

plastic

WET, NON-INFECTIOUS WASTES leftover


vegetable peeling

food,

INFECTIOUS WASTES
indwelling

AMPULES

bottles,
wet

dry

plastic,

plastic

fruit

and

soiled diapers, bandages, IV catheters,


catheters, IV tubings (without needles),
solusets (without needles), blood bags and
other items that came into contact with
patients body fluids
breakable, single-use ampules

VIALS
use vials

small to medium-sized single/multiple-

SHARPS
lancets,

IV introducer needles, syringe needles, blades,


Insulin syringes, and other items capable of

breaking
intact skin
IV bottles and extra-large vials should be disposed in your PLASTIC DRUM.
