ATLS Post Test

A post test document summarizes key information about trauma patients. Cardiac tamponade can resemble a tension pneumothorax. Upper thoracic spine fractures from hyperflexion are inherently unstable. Absent breath sounds and dullness over the left chest indicate a left hemothorax. A confused gunshot patient with weak pulse and cool skin requires emergency surgery to control internal bleeding and establish a diagnosis of shock requires evidence of inadequate organ perfusion.
