SCOPE
The specification covers the requirement of design, manufacturing, testing, packing and
supply of industrial type control stations and accessories suitable for installation in safe
outdoor areas.

This specification
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
The offered equipment shall be brand new with state of the art technology and proven
field track record. No prototype equipment shall be offered.
Vendor shall ensure availability of spare parts and maintenance support services for the
offered equipment for at least 10 years from the date of supply.
SITE CONDITIONS
The equipment shall be suitable for installation and satisfactory operation in tropical,
humid and corrosive atmosphere as material handling plant unless otherwise specified, a
design ambient temperature of 40C and an altitude not exceeding 1000m above sea level
shall be considered.
5.0
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
5.1
Construction
5.1.1 The Enclosure of the control station shall be made of Cast aluminium (LM6) construction,

position. Each position of switch shall be indelibly marked on the control station Selector
Switches shall have spare contacts.
5.2.4 All ammeters shall be of moving iron type having an accuracy class of 3 and suitable for 1
ampere CT secondary. Unless otherwise specified, minimum size of ammeter shall either
be 72mm x 72mm or maximum 92 x 92mm dia. 80% of the scale length shall be cover
100% of the CT primary current uniformly and the balance 20% of the scale shall cover
100600% of the CT primary. A red marked corresponding to the full load current of the
motor shall be provided on the ammeter dial. The ammeter front glass shall be toughened.
5.2.5 All ammeter shall be digital type (For above 30kw motor). Motor starters shall be
provided with suitable dual (420mA) output transducers connected to the secondary of
the current transformer in respective panels / modules for push button station ammeters.
5.2.4 All push button and control switch contacts shall be rated for min. 5 amps at 240V AC15
and 2 Amp at 110V DC13 duty.
5.2.5 Indicating lamp(s), wherever provided, shall be clustered LED type (with minimum 3 nos.
LEDs, preferably connected in parallel), mounted inside an enclosure of minimum
diameter of 15mm.
5.3
Terminal & Wiring
5.3.1 The control stations shall be provided with required number of terminals with 20% spare
terminals. More than 2 wires per terminal shall not be permitted. If required, additional
terminal with shorting link may be used. Each terminal for external cable connection shall
be suitable for termination of 2.5sqmm solid copper conductor. In case lugs are required
for cable termination, tinned copper type lugs shall be provided.
5.3.2 All internal wiring shall employ 2.5Sqmm 660V grade, PVC insulated copper conductor
wires.
5.4
LCS shall be provided with minimum following devices:
5.4.1 For DOL drives:
Local / Remote selector switch, STOP, EMERGENCY STOP and START pushbuttons, LED
lamps (local permissive, status etc.), Digital Ammeter (for above 30KW or VFD controlled
LT motors) For VFD controlled motors additional devices (i.e. lamps, push buttons
switches, meters etc.) as indicated under TS for VFD shall also be provided.
5.4.2 For RDOL drives:
FORWARD/REVERSE, STOP and EMERGENCY STOP pushbuttons, LED lamps (local
permissive, status etc.), Digital Ammeter (for above 30KW or VFD controlled LT motors)
For VFD controlled motors additional devices (i.e. lamps, push buttons switches, meters
etc.) as indicated under TS for VFD shall also be provided.

5. Quality control plan.
6. All above drawings and documents shall be submitted in triplicate within 15 days
of placement of LOI.
7. All equipment shall be manufactured as per approved drawings only.
8. The supplier should also submit any other drawing/documents, as and when
required by the customer, for better understanding of the equipment to be supplied
by them.

All the equipment shall be divided into several sections for protection and ease of
handling during transportation. The equipment shall be properly packed for
transportation by ship/ rail or trailer. It shall be wrapped in polythene sheets placed in
crates/ cases to prevent damage to finish. The rates/ cases shall have skid bottoms for
handling. Special notations such as Fragile, This side up, Center of gravity, Weight,
Owners particulars, PO Nos. Etc., shall be clearly and indelibly marked on the packages
together with other details as per purchase order.
The equipment may be stored in covered shed for long periods before installation. The
packing shall be completely suitable for such storage.
