Experiment No: 2 AIM Problem:-::-To Find The Capacitance of A Three Core Cable
The document describes an experiment to calculate the capacitance of a three core cable. It provides the geometry of the cable, including the diameters of the cores and insulation layers. It then gives the boundary conditions of 11kV in the cores and 0kV in the outer insulation. The experiment calculates the charge and uses the formula for capacitance to determine the capacitance is 3.746264 pF, and the stored energy is 0.000226649 Joules.

Experiment No: 2
AIM :- To find the capacitance of a three core cable.
PROBLEM :Find the capacitance of 3 core cable having following geometry. 1. 2. 3. 4.
Diameter of core 5cm.
Thickness of the insulation around each core 2cm. Thickness of the insulation around the 3 cores together 2cm. Dielectric around each core is the paper and outer most insulator material is mica. 5. Boundary condition is 11kV in the core and outermost insulator is at 0kV.
SOLUTION :Formula 1. C = Q / V 2. E = 0.5*C*V^2
OBSERVATIONS :Voltage = 11000 Volts
Charge = 4.12095e-008 Coulombs
CALCULATIONS :1. C = Charge/Voltage = 4.12095e-008/11000 = 3.74631pC
2. E = 0.5*C*V^2 or C = 0.000226649/(0.5*110002) = 3.74626 pC
