Science Notebook
Your notebook is very important and will be 30% of your class grade. The notebook must be used for
SCIENCE ONLY. This notebook will help you stay organized and focused during the school year. I will
randomly check and grade notebooks every so often so always be prepared.
Attendance & Participation
In order to successfully pass this class, I cannot stress the importance of being in class on time and being
prepared and ready to participate in class on a daily basis. A daily warm-up will be given during the first 5
minutes of class which cannot be made up in the event of your tardiness or absence.
Absent/Makeup Work Policy
ALL WORK must be made up when a student is absent. It is the students responsibility to obtain missing
work before school, nutrition, lunch, or after school. There will be an assigned folder where students can find
work given from the day before. Absent work is given 5 days to complete without any penalties. Any absent
work turned after will receive a lowered score.
Late Work
Although I cannot stress the importance of work being turned in on time and meeting deadlines, I do understand
that there are times when issues arise and class work may not be completed and/or submitted on time. With that
said, late work may be accepted; however, it may not be longer than ONE WEEK past the due date.
