Design of Beam

This document describes the design of a beam (B3) with dimensions of 230mm x 450mm. It provides the moments and shear forces calculated from frame analysis. It then calculates the required reinforcement and checks various design criteria like shear capacity, deflection and reinforcement limits according to code IS 456-2000. The beam is designed as a rectangular section but checked for bending at the midspan assuming a T-beam action. Stirrups are provided to resist shear. The percentage of steel provided is less than the code limit of 4%.
