Stiffener Calculation

1. The document describes the design of horizontal and vertical stiffeners for a structure subjected to an internal pressure of 400 kg/m2. A ISMC 150 section is used as the horizontal stiffener. 2. A flat section of size 100 mm x 10 mm is used as the vertical stiffener. Calculations are shown to check the bending stress in the panel and stiffener from the applied bending moment. 3. Spacing between the vertical stiffeners is checked to be adequate to support the calculated uniform load on the plate using formulas given. Deflection of the plate is also calculated and found to satisfy limits.
