Chapter 1
This template contains the heading styles required to create each chapter of your thesis.
Create each chapter in this template, and then assemble all chapters into the Front Matter
template (http://grad.ucalgary.ca/current/thesis/msword) after they are completed.
Use the Thesis Template Toolbar (Add-Ins) or the HomeStyles to apply heading styles
as you work. All text formatted with a heading style will be included automatically in the Table
of Contents in the Front Matter template.
Headings 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 under Styles are defaulted to the five heading levels in APA in
major ways, and minor modifications are needed:

Capitalize the first letter of each word when necessary for Headings 1&2;

Add a period for Headings 3, 4, & 5.

Level 1 centered, boldface, uppercase and lowercase headings
Data Collection
Level 2 left-aligned, boldface, uppercase and lowercase headings
Classroom observation.
Level 3 indented, boldface, lowercase heading with a period
Student behaviours.
Level 4 indented, boldface, italicized, lowercase heading with a period
Common behaviours.
Level 5 indented, italicized, lowercase heading with a period
