Assessment Criteria Aspects

This document provides assessment criteria and levels of achievement for an IB science experiment. It will be used to evaluate the student's experimental record. The criteria cover several aspects of scientific experimentation including planning, data collection, data analysis, and evaluation. For each aspect, the document describes the requirements to achieve different levels (complete, partial, not at all) based on clearly defined standards. The student's work will be judged on fulfilling each requirement and scored to determine their level of achievement for each aspect assessed in their experiment.

Name(s) of other group member(s): _____________________________________________

Experiment Number: _____ Title of Experiment: _____________________

Your work will be judged on whether the requirements of the aspect being assessed have been fulfilled
completely, partially or not at all.
Your score for each requirement will be added and rounded down to give mark of 0, 1,2 or 3 for the aspect
Make sure you know which aspects are being assessed for this experiment
Aspects not being assessed need only be addressed briefly in your Experimental Record
Before submitting your Experimental Record, check the requirements in the tables below
Your portfolio must contain: your Experimental Record, this sheet and all printed or verbal instructions
