ENGLISH RPH Week 12 Monday

THE VALUE OF FRIENDSHIP

By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1) Talk about the quality of good friends
Students will be successful if by the end of the lesson, they are able
to :
1) Write a poem about the characteristics of a good friend by
using the acronym FRIENDSHIP .
STARTER
1) Students are given acronyms and they need to guess what they
stand for.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
1) In groups, students draw bubble maps to list down the qualities
of good friends.
1) Students compose an acronym poem using the word Friendship.
2) Students present their poems.
PLENARY
1) The other students rate their friends poems.
2) Teacher gives comments and highlights language errors if any.

1) Students look at the cover of the short story textbook and
describe what they see.

1) Students go through the text and identify the characters and th
important events.
2) In groups, students draw the flow map and fill in the flow map
with 7 important events.
3) Students present the important events.

1) Identify the format of a news report.(headline, lead etc)
2) Read the news report with correct pronunciation and intonation.
3) Answer WH questions based on the report.
STARTER
1) Students watch a video of an accident and gives comment.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
1) Students go through the notes given and identify difficult words.
2) Students identify and label the parts of a news report.
3) Students sit in groups and answer the WH questions.
PLENARY
1) Students check their answers.

16/27 students were able to answer all WH questions correctly. 11
students have trouble in understanding instructions and in
answering the question. Teacher facilitated the students.
