Introduction
An input device for a computer allows you to enter information. The most fundamental
pieces of information are keystrokes on a keyboard and clicks with a mouse. These two
input devices are essential for you to interact with your computer. Many other input
devices exist for entering other types of information, such as images, audio and video.
Input devices represent one type of computer peripheral the other two types are output
devices and storage devices.
Following are the latest input devices which are being used are will be used in upcoming
days.
1. Touch Screen: An contact screen may be an extraordinary sort of
screen device, which will
be put on the workstation screen so as will permit the regulate

processor. Advanced OCR systems can read the

made by pencils or pen on the paper. This type of technology is used to evaluate the papers

competitive examination. Optical mark reading is done by
special device called optical mark reader.

4. Magnetic-Ink Character Recognition technology is used by the banking industry for


faster processing of the large
volume of cheques. This
technology also ensures accuracy
of
data entry, because most of the
information is pre-printed on the
cheque and is directly fed to the
computer.

Virtual Reality or VR is a computer generated artificial environment that allows a user to


view, explore, and manipulate the environment. Virtual Reality is a computer generated
reality manipulated and explored using various input devices such as goggles, headphones,
gloves, or a
computer. Using these devices a user can

manipulate virtual objects.

Biometrics is the identification of a person by the measurement of their biological


features. For example, a user identifying themselves to a computer

building by their finger print or voice is considered a biometrics
identification. When compared to a password, this type of system

much more difficult to fake since it is unique to the person.
