The students are told they are going to learn how to say the names of the animals and they are
presented a chart with animals that has long and vowel sounds.
The teacher models each word pronouncing and making the students repeat each word. She
begins with the short vowel sounds, then she goes on with the long vowel sound.

To make this activity fun and easy to learn the sounds, the teacher gives each child a piece of
sticky tac and show how to do it. The teacher will say the words first and the kids repeat the
words and this time uses the sticky tac.

A. Stretch the sticky tac and say bee showing the long sound

B. Stretch very little the sticky tac and say pig showing the short sound.

Once they have enough practice, they are asked to work in pairs.
PAIR WORK: the teacher guides the kids to practice the short and long sound in pairs
monitoring the kids.
Students are told to look at the walls. There there are two pictures one in singular and the other
in plural. The kids are asked to tell the difference between the two pictures.
Teacher explains to them that they are going to meet more animals alone and in groups.

Students receive a drawing with a picture of a singular or a picture of a plural noun. Then they
are asked to find their animal family. After the teacher says, one pig, one elephant, one cat,
and these kids should go to the front. Then she says one pig here and two pigs there, and
does the same with other animals.
They have some time to color the pictures. The teacher practices pronunciation saying one pig
and the child who has the picture holds it. The same with the plural two pigs and the child
who has the picture holds it. Everyone repeats the words with the correct
pronunciation.

Group work:
The students are given a worksheet with the picture of one animal on the left side and they will
complete with the picture of two or three animals. They have model animals in a big bag to pick
up.
Homework:
Students pick up a picture of their favorite animal and are given a piece of paper to paste their
animal. On one side, they have to paste it representing the singular noun and on the other side
they should pasted in plural. (Parents are asked to help their kids)
Before leaving the room, the kids do the feedback of the class.
