STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am Shubham Ranjit Bhatia, a research oriented student from Ahmedabad,


India, aspiring to make a mark on world Aerospace Engineering scenario. I am a
simple, down to earth human being who believes in the path to righteousness
preached in all Indian religions. I believe firmly that compassion is what separates
us humans, from animals. My straightforwardness and my resilient attitude
complemented with a forgive and forget policy has made me the individual that I
am today. The
strong values and morals that mould my character has been a
gift from my parents. I am blessed in
many ways, family wise, friendship wise
and education wise. Apart from academics, I am interested in myriad other
activities like event management, music and my passion for sports especially
cricket and karate are well-known.
My interest in Aerospace dates back to my starting years of secondary school,
where I had my
first physics classes. During these classes we were taught about
gravity and for further information we were shown a video of space shuttle. I was
amazed to observe two rockets, an external tank and an
orbiter working
wonders. This inclination towards the launch vehicles and its working is still intact
within me, the curiosity and a huge potential in this ever developing field made me
choose aerospace
engineering for my further studies.
During my undergraduate studies, subjects like physics, mechanics, pure
mathematics and
chemistry were major areas of interest. The logical and
analytical skills honed by acquisition of these
subjects further fueled my passion
for doing something incredible in the field of aerospace.
I undertook projects that would test my capabilities. During a science
exhibition, I worked on a solar cooker that would be very helpful for the needy
people. Working on this project not only helped me acquire technical skills but also
enchased my work skills.
Although maintaining a good academic record consumed much of the time, I
made a point to
participate in cultural events, hosting annual functions, along
with taking part in sports events. Working as a class monitor, a drum major and a
captain of soccer team helped me immensely in the field of
socializing and
relationship building arena.
During my initial academic session, I had problem maintaining good grades in
subjects, but the
persistent motivation of my peers coupled with my self
confidence and an urge to excel, made me work hard and get good results. A need
for comprehensive knowledge combined with appropriate research
can lead to
new technologies being evolved. A never-ending scope of development and
innovations in
aerospace engineering persuaded me to pursue undergraduate
studies from Tohoku university.

Japanese degree is internationally renowned and amongst one of the most


sought after highest??? in the world. Japan has evolved into a world class
education destination for students aspiring
quality education. Japan is not
only peaceful but also highly appreciated by international students and
tourist,
who have visited and studied here. Japan is also considered to be relatively safe and
orderly
country to study and live in.
Tohoku University provides state of the art education. It gives industry
relevant exposure and also provides facilities like resourceful tech-savvy libraries,
practical laboratories with advanced research machinery. The teaching methodology
is inclusive and interactive. Tohoku University is synonymous to
best guidance
provider and facilitator when it comes to engineering field. I would be honoured if I
could land a seat in this prestigious institution.I will work with full zeal and
enthusiasm to pursue my goals.
