Specification For Control Valve
Specification For Control Valve
& ACCESSORIES
1.0
Sizing of the Control valve should be carried out such as to prevent flashing, cavitation & in
conformity with the noise requirements mentioned in clause 7.0, based on the data &
operating conditions attached. Results of the sizing calculations shall be forwarded with the
quotation.
No quotation will be evaluated without the results of the sizing calculation. Generally valve
shall have twice the Cv required for the normal design flow at specified condition. The
Normal Flow Cv does not include any factors relating to the geometry of the valve on its
installation. The valve size and approximate valve Cv should include allowances for such
factors.

The valves shall have suitable guiding to prevent excessive shaft deflection due to
maximum differential pressure or actuator thrust.
2.3
Bonnets and bottom flanges shall be of integral type or bolted type construction with
fully retained gasketting.
2.4
Bonnet and bottom flanges shall be of the same generic material as the body, and made
of castings, forgings or plate where applicable.
3.0
DIRECTION OF FLOW
The vendor shall determine the direction of flow, which is more desired for the operating
conditions & which will comply the noise requirements given in clause 7.0.
The direction of flow should be clearly marked on the valve body, embossed during casting
or using Stainless Steel Tag displaying the Inlet & outlet on the flange faces.
4.0
VALVE MARKING
The Control Valve should have Stainless Steel nameplate permanently fastened to the
superstructure which shall be visible when the valve is in service. This name plate shall
include the following information.
