INTRODUCTION
The process of teaching learning depends upon the different type of equipment
available in the classroom. There are many aids available these days like audio,
visual and audio visual aids. They have a very much importance in teaching
learning process.
It is now a well recognized fact that to keep teaching and make it effective. We
have to make use of certain material aids. The use of these material aids makes
teaching effective, simple and interesting. We have been using text book ,writing
material ,geometric instruments and the blackboard. Since long as indispensable
equipments for mathematics classes. Teaching aids help in clear understanding of
the subject and classifying the abstract ideas. They appears the sense of the pupil
and so they satisfies their interests. They help in saving time and energy of both
teacher and learner because it takes a long time to clarify an abstract idea
verbally but the point can be made clear at one by one using some appropriate
teaching aids
Teaching aids influence the mind of the learner through their senses. The use of
material aids makes the learning effective, simple and interesting. For many years
resourceful teacher have been using models instruments ,drawings and other
devices for stimulating interests and to facilitate the learning of mathematics.
Since mathematics is considered as dry subject so as to interest in learning
mathematics ,teaching we require one or the other aids at every step.
METHODOLOGY
For the particular study the investigator collect the data from govt: HSS
Ramapuram during teaching practice normative survey is used for the study. Tool
used for this study was questionnaire. The questionnaire contains ten questions
which are distributed among 14 teacher of Govt :H S S Ramapuram.

From the analysis of the data 73% of teacher draw diagram on the
blackboard while teaching and also 73% of teacher agrees that the learning aids
help in saving time and energy and also the use of learning aids makes students
attentive. 86% of the teacher use about while teaching . 86% of the teacher are of
opinion that learning aids develops healthy classroom interaction fostering
scientific thinking among students. 93% of the teacher are of opinion that the
teaching aid make the teaching effective and interesting and also large number of
students can be taught at a time by using teaching aids . only few teachers agree
they can create natural atmosphere or take the students to outdoor place for the
study.
FINDINGS
1. Teaching aids make the teaching learning process interesting.
2. Large number of students can be taught at a time by using teaching aids.
3. Audio visual aids supply concrete base for conceptional thinking.
SUGGESTIONS
1. The aid should be selected according to the general interest, ability of the
pupil.
2. The size of the aid should be neither too large nor too small, it should be
clearly visible to the students.
3. In mathematics , the diagrams, concepts figures formula etc depited
through the aids must be accurate . accuracy is very important.
4. Every aid must be need at the proper time.
5. The aid should be keep before the students as long as it serves some
purpose.
CONCLUSION
Teaching aids makes the teaching effective and interesting. Audio visual
aids supply concrete base for conceptional thinking . the use of learning aids
create a lasting impression on the mind of the learners. Large number of students
can be taught at a time by using teaching aids. Teaching aids makes the students
attentive in class. Learning aids develop healthy classroom interaction fostering
scientific thinking among students. Learning aids help in saving time and energy.
