Ngiting tila may palaging nalalaman, kahit wala naman

talaga. Iyan ang ngiti niyang madalas pang-asar ngunit kung
minsa’y ikinatutuwa din naman. Mahilig itong magpanggap
na may nasagap siyang tsismis tungkol sa iyo, at kahit
alam mong wala naman talaga, kapag kaharap mo na
siya’y mapaiisip ka pa rin: “Teka lang, alam yata niya…”

Mag-ingat lalo na kapag may alam (o nalaman) nga siya

tungkol sa iyo. Walang humpay na pang-aasar ang aabutin
mo sa kanya. Pero huwag matakot, hampasin mo lang iyan—
kung hindi man mapatigil, gagaan naman ang pakiramdam
mo. At kapag gusto mo namang gumanti, dahil isa siyang
math major, aba kalkyulator lang naman ang katapat niyan!
Ngunit siyempre, hindi lang pang-aasar ang kaya nito.
Henyo rin siya. At iyon din ang sasabihin niya sa iyo. Kaya
hayaan niyo na lang… pagbigyan kahit minsan-minsan.
Pero kahit ganyan iyan, maraming tao ang nagmamahal
sa kanya. At kahit na isang malaking pang-asar itong si Ge,
masasabi niyong “luv ko to, sobra…” Tulad ko.

Or the person who rides the tricycle more often than she walks.
Someone who likes shopping at National Bookstore,

The hibernating animal who loves to sleep and says it’s
a recreation,
Or that O.C. who’s organized with all her stuff.
The person who’d quickly laugh at jokes even if they’re not that funny.
But easily cries as well, if her feelings are hurt.
That kid who loves to baby-talk a lot, it’s really cute if you’d hear,
Or that adult who’d listen to all your life’s worries.
That pretty princess who adds meaning to your life in
many ways,
Or the most important person you meet in college.
That someone who is like everything above and more,
That someone whose name is Nikki.

Meeting Donna, or Ma-ann, as she is known by many for the

first time, is like meeting a long lost friend who saved every
bit of story there is to share. She loves to talk about a lot
of things, most of which are based on her life experiences
leaving you quiet and contemplating at the same time.
Although she carries this snobby aura at times, she is a
great listener and a very understanding person. Her open-
mindedness is so profound, you will never have second
thoughts sharing with her the things or circumstances
you think are bizarre. It is never hard to open up with her
because you know that whatever it is that troubles you,
she will, if not do away, lighten up your burden. With her
presence, you can always feel the comfort a good friend
always has to give.

Ma-ann is a responsible student who knows what to

prioritize and what not to. A good leader, too, she does not
entertain the idea of prejudice over people, which goes
to show that she believes in other people’s talents and
capabilities.

Mark… Mark! Oh boy, it’s really hard to describe this guy.

He is one hell of a dorm mate! He’s very generous, always
ready to help us (his dorm mates) out whenever we find
ourselves short of the P150 minimum for fast food home
delivery. Also, he always finds time to tutor us on our math
assignments, tests and in other techie stuff that has to
do with computers, whenever we are having difficulties.
One word that best fits Mark’s personality is… CRAMMER!
He has mastered the art of cramming. With Mark, time is
not an issue. No matter how late it is, he still manages
to play monopoly, volleyball and computer games with us
although he has a long test the next day. Major papers are
no problem! He can do it in just a short time… mind you, in
a matter of hours! That’s Mark!

Kai is everyone’s favorite friend. She loves everything

American--dark painted toenails, hiphop and glossy In Style
magazines. She adores everything about Pinoy showbiz--
from Patrick Garcia to Kris Aquino. She’s a celebrity herself,
with appearances on shows like On Air and NAKS! Don’t be
misled though, Kai’s not pure triviality. She might not look
it, but she can solve complex math equations faster than
you can say “Magkano ba sukli natin?”

She is one of the greatest friends one can have. Ever the
cheerleader and sounding board, she’ll stay with you ‘til
you’re all right. She’s a drama queen, but at the end of the
day, like a true star, she always manages to bounce up.
Beyond her laughter and tears is a strength that lies within
her. Hearts like hers are the ones that cry the hardest, the
ones that shine the brightest and the ones that inspire the
most. Kai loves a lot of things, places and people. What she
doesn’t know is the whole world loves her back… twenty
million times more.

Chris is a renaissance man of sorts—skilled in the mind,

body, and soul. The genius he demonstrates on the hard-
court is comparable to the brilliance he displays when
confronted with a math problem. He does not accept things
as they are; rather, with his inquisitive mind, he delves deep
into the idea before pronouncing his judgment. Nor does
he back down without a fight; he will defend his cause
with pride to the end. But beneath this seemingly rational,
indifferent disposition is a man full of heart who values his
family and peers above himself and loves with a genuine
love. He dreams big but puts his feet firmly on the ground;
both a visionary and a realist. He has his ambitions but at
the core is a passion for his family’s well-being and a desire
to uplift the lives of his fellowmen. And to all you women
out there, Chris is a prize catch. And if you ever catch him,
my only advice to you is: never let him go…

“Silent waters run deep.” This was my first impression of

Mr. “Edward Donelle”. Little did I know that behind that
seemingly quiet façade and serious demeanor was a guy
with a huge heart, one loved by all. He walks the halls saying
sorry to all the girls he had teased the past week, but at the
same time secretly knowing that they’ve appreciated his
ability to make them laugh through out the day. He can’t
pass through the cafeteria without greeting all his buddies
using his favorite term of endearment: “Idol!”. He can be a
comforting pillow or teddy bear for those moments you
just need a hug, or a shoulder and ear when you need a
person to listen. You would never imagine that a person
of his size and appearance could actually be so sweet and
sensitive deep inside. His passion, simplicity and faith in
God are the things in him that make him truly unique… truly
special. Edon asked me to help him understand who he is
through this write up. If only he saw in himself what others
see… what I see… I think he’d be quite surprised...

In constant discord with boundaries, she decides to break

the limits and dig up the foundations of… well... any
structure she can get her hands on. Tell her she doesn’t
have the capability to do something and she’ll prove you
wrong. She will jump off just to know how much it hurts
to fall. She impulsively grabs opportunities, never letting
anything pass her by. Sure she has had her fair share of
failures, letting herself be dragged on from one mess to
the next. But her youthful resilience makes those failures
her success. Youth is her most powerful weapon. It keeps
her from holding herself back… from drowning in regret
and hopelessness that eventually comes with age. With
her youthful eagerness, she travels the roads of life, failing
and succeeding with every turn. That is why behind her
child-like façade, her eyes shine with wisdom and maturity
backing one ‘helluvah’ character that will never falter.
