This document describes a 2-4 bit mini calculator project using logic gates and 7-segment displays. The project aims to demonstrate basic calculator functionality using logic circuits. It uses various logic gates like inverters, AND, OR, and XOR gates to perform calculations. The hardware includes ICs like the 7447 decoder, 74283 binary adder, and 7-segment displays. It is intended to help students apply their logic circuit knowledge and understand real-world applications of logic gates.

I.

Statement of the Problem

This project aims to show and operate a seemingly like calculator in 7

segment display using logic gates and decoders.

II.

Significance of the Project

This project would serve as a stepping stone towards devising

advanced calculators. Through this, the students would be able to apply their
knowledge on logic circuits. They would be able to understand well not just
on theory but on actual cases. Students would be able to understand the
significance of logic gates in daily life applications.

III.

Scope and Limitation

This project is limited only to using a seven segment display and any

logic gates except programmable ICs. This project is to be done within 15

days cycle.

IV.

Description of the Project

With the use of different logic gates, this 2-4 bit mini-calculator can utilize
mathematics calculations. It calculates 1 15 number combination with the
three operations: Multiply; Subtract; Add.
