Southbound : ATM ( 4 E1 for each Node B )
Northbound : Full IP

All information should be checked carefully before doing RNC integration.


3. RNC Integration
a. Backup RNC
Copy C and D drive to your hardisk
Use FTP client connect to RNC :
Ip default : 169.254.1.1
User : rnc
Pass : rnc
Take a kget log :
RNC> l+ rnc.log
RNC> kget all
RNC> lb. Power Test
- Power on all FAN first.
- Power on MS and ES at side A , wait for all boards working nornal ( it takes 5 to 10
minutes )
- Power on MS and ES at side B
- Power off MS and ES at side A, check all boards still working normal, wait for few
minutes .
- Power on MS and ES at side A.
c. Upgrade SW for RNC
Check current sw of RNC :

The sw level of RNC is P7.1.0 with upgrade package CXP9013831_R9SB . According the
contact , we need to upgrade sw for RNC to P7.1.2.
Check and set clock of RNC :

Unzip upgrade package.


Set up FTP server on your laptop.
Connect to RNC by using EMAS.
From EMAS , click on Software UP Create UP

Fill in all information , click on Install Package and choose Full Install

It takes about 20 minutes for Install package.


When finish, continue with Upgrade Node step with Hard Upgrade Option, it takes 40
minutes for this step.

In this step, RNC will restart some application, connection to RNC will be lost.
Click Continue when a warning appears.

Confirm upgrade when upgrade finish

After finish all step, check the current sw of RNC :

f. Change APP mode


The APP ports are set 10G at default, but the Customers Router just supports 1G, so
we need to set APP ports again.
- To change the APP mode, perform the following steps:
1. Switch the power on for the APP, if not already done.

2. Using a cable TSR 432 10, connect the Client to the APP, port
"Monitor Ext" (76).
3. Configure the HyperTerminal by following the steps described
in Initial Configuration of RNC, Section 2.1.2. Set the setting for
the serial connection as shown in Table 1.

- Click on Equipment Subrack=MS Slot 3 PluginUnit
