The Thomasian Junior Marketing Association (TJMA), the official student


organization of the Marketing Management Department of the College of
Commerce, University of Santo Tomas with members reaching 700 students,

marketers and successful business managers who are socially responsible,
rooted with Thomistic values. TJMA aims to provide meaningful service to its
members, and uplift academic excellence and intellectual capabilities on
matters concerning Marketing in order to expand its members' professionalism
en route to becoming a Thomasian graduate who is competent, compassionate
and committed.

support to finance our upcoming 1st major event of this year which is the

TJMA CORPORATE PACKAGES


Gold: For P 15, 000 (cash or goods (stubs or gift certificates)) the company is entitled to receive these
following privileges:

 The company will be acknowledged as a major sponsor during the General Assembly.
 The company will be exclusive or will have the control over the whole event and can block other
sponsors if they want.
 The company will be given 1 Full page Ad, Colored, in every Zenith issue (the official publication
of the Thomasian Junior Marketing Association). Zenith will be distributed to 700 students of the
College and the circulation can reach up to times 3 of 1 student for the reason that it will be pass
on to their friends, family and relatives.
 The company can place booths to promote their products and/or services.
 Flyers or any promotional materials of the company will be given away during the event.
 The company will be allotted spaces to put up tarpaulins/streamers in the said event.
 The company will be allowed to conduct surveys, observations and other tools that will contribute
to the company’s marketing research during the event.
 The company can give discount coupons that will be placed inside the discount page of the
Zenith. This will encourage the readers of Zenith to visit the store and buy the company’s
products because of the discounts they will get.
 The company name and logo will be displayed on TJMA’s online accounts (multiply, friendster,
facebook, yahoogroups), bulletin board, tarpaulins/streamers, posters, invitations, tickets, etc.
The company name will also be included in all of the advertisements that the organization will
use to promote the said activity.
 TVC loop will be played during the event.

Silver: For P 10, 000 (cash or goods (stubs or gift certificates)) the company is entitled to receive these
following privileges:

 The company will be acknowledged as a major sponsor during the General Assembly.
 The company will be given ½ page Ad, Colored, in every Zenith issue (the official publication of
the Thomasian Junior Marketing Association). Zenith will be distributed to 700 students of the

 Flyers or any promotional materials of the company will be given away during the event.
 The company will be allotted spaces to put up tarpaulins/streamers in the said event.
 The company can give discount coupons that will be placed inside the discount page of the
Zenith. This will encourage the readers of Zenith to visit the store and buy the company’s
products because of the discounts they will get.
 The company name and logo will be displayed on TJMA’s online accounts (multiply, friendster,
facebook, yahoogroups), bulletin board, tarpaulins/streamers, posters, invitations, tickets, etc.
The company name will also be included in all of the advertisements that the organization will
use to promote the said activity.

Packages shall undergo careful consideration, mindful of how both sponsor and TJMA shall benefit from each other.
A contract of agreement shall be created and duly signed by both parties, in accordance to the compromised
decision of both parties. Package details are negotiable.

PROJECT PROPOSAL

I. Project Title: The Thomasian Junior Marketing Association's General Assembly

II. Project Theme: “Marketistang Tomasino, Proud Ako Dito!”

III. Project Proponent: The Thomasian Junior Marketing Association

IV. Project Rationale:

The Thomasian Junior Marketing Association, with its aim to promote unity, camaraderie, and
sportsmanship within the organization and its members, shall organize its General Assembly that will
instill in its members the importance of togetherness in the Thomasian Marketing Community.

V. Project Objectives:

To promote and strengthen the unity and camaraderie within each section and among the members of
the organization
To build stronger relationships between the Marketing students, officers and professors
To apply the students' knowledge in Integrated Marketing Communication and other Marketing
courses
To boost the overall character of every member in their quest for excellence
To introduce each section through a class performance and to showcase the talent of the Marketing
Management Majors
To formally introduce the organization and its committees, and welcome its members to academic
year 2009 - 2010

VI. Project Description:

The Thomasian Junior Marketing Association (TJMA), the official student organization of the marketing
majors, enters its second year as an organization under the College of Commerce and Business
Administration, and will hold its General Assembly on September 8, 2009, from 2:00PM to 6:30PM,
at the Medicine Auditorium to formally welcome its members. TJMA will carry out its 2nd Annual
Cannes Tigers Festival which will showcase the students' creativity and apply their knowledge in
Integrated Marketing Communication and other Marketing courses related to Advertising. This is a good
opportunity for the students to show competence and excellence in the realm of their chosen field. A
supplement competition that will facilitate the active participation of the members is the live class
presentation which aims to introduce each section through a campaign that will sell their section as a
product and to showcase their talents as Marketing Management Majors. In line with this segment, each
class must create a poster that will complement their class presentation. In total, three competitions will
occur for the General Assembly.

VII. Mechanics:

* 2nd Annual Cannes Tigers Festival

 All Third and Fourth year TJMA members are entitled to join.
 Each section will create a Television Commercial for a given
brand or product that will comply with the company's objectives
and appeal to its target audience. All the information necessary and
the product or brand will be provided by TJMA.
 Each TVC will be judged according to the following criteria:

• Communication Artistry 30%


o This includes the effective communication of the message
• Execution 30%
o This includes the the essence and relevance of the TVC to
the case, and the originality and creativity of the TVC.
• Thomasian X-Factor 15%
o The TVC should exude and promote Thomasian qualities
and values
• Audience Impact 5%
• Over-All Impact 20%
o This includes the consistency and over-all appeal of the
TVC
• TOTAL: 100%

 All the directors together with a class officer shall undergo


orientation and crash course on the elements of a TVC.
 The TVC should run for at least 15 seconds and not exceed 30
seconds. A 1 point deduction from the over-all tallied score will be
given for every second in excess of the time allotted. This will be
checked and implemented upon submission of the TVC, and will be
based on the runtime of the TVC.
 Each TVC must not replicate any previous or existing TVC.
 Each TVC must not contradict/violate the Thomasian values and
philosophies, including that of the rules and regulations of the
university. It should not contain any use of foul or discriminatory
language, nor show any lascivious or malicious acts.
 Each TVC must be submitted in produced form: mpeg
format saved in a CD. Each CD must be properly labelled with the
name of the section and the director.
 The deadline of entries is on August 29, 2009, Saturday, at 5
o’clock in the afternoon. All entries must be submitted to an
executive officer at the TJMA Table of the Organizations' Room,
Ground Floor, St. Raymund’s Bldg. Late entries will not be
accepted.

 The following are the awards to be given away:

Best in Execution (based on Execution scores)

Best in Visual Presentation (based on Over-all Impact scores)

up

* Live Class Presentation: “Proud ako dito!”

1. All sections from the 3rd year and 4th year of the marketing management
department are entitled to join. Only TJMA members may participate in the live
presentation.
2. Each section should come up with a live presentation that will serve as
their class campaign. The objective is to introduce and sell their section as a
product, and to showcase their message, features and talents as a class and as
Marketing Management Majors in a creative way.
3. Each section should come up with their class marketing strategy which
includes the message, target market, brand, positioning strategy, etc.
4. Each class should conceptualize creative and effective means of
successfully marketing their product (section) to the judges and audience which
they will present onstage. (ex: skit, talent exhibition, class jingle,
impersonations, etc.)
5. Each group of presentor should be composed of at least 20 students. The
group shall include the main cast or actors, extras, voices (for dubbed
presentations), director, technicals, and others. The names and roles of the
presentors must be submitted on or before 5pm of August 29, 2009, Saturday.
6. The presentation should be at least 3 minutes and not more than 5
minutes. 5 points will be deducted for every minute in excess of the 5 minute
limit. A buzzer will indicate the 1 minute mark (time left); and 2 buzzes if there
is only 30 seconds left.
7. The airing of the TVC entry shall serve as ingress time for the live
presentation. Timer starts immediately after the TVC presentation.
8. The presentation should be inline with the event's theme, “Marketistang
Tomasino, Proud Ako Dito!” (Proud to be a Thomasian Marketer!)
9. Criteria for Judging are as follows:

• Message 20%
• Execution 25%
• Creativity 20%
• Originality 20%
• Audience Impact 5%
• Over-all Impact 10%
• TOTAL: 100%

10. The following are the awards to be given away:


PAD Live Champion, 1st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up

* Poster: MarQUILTed

• TJMA will provide each section with 1 katya of the same


size.
• Each section must completely cover the katya with their
design.
• Each class may use any material for the design such as
paint, and others.
• Submission of the designed Katya will be on or before
5pm of August 29.
• Placement of the position of the entry on the Quilt will be
on a first come, first serve basis. (First class to submit will have
the opportunity to choose their entry's placement on the entire
Katya, and etc)

Proposed Layout for the Quilt:

• Incase of damage after the distribution of the katya, the


section will be responsible for its replacement.
• The theme for the class quilt entry will be in line with their
class live presentation or class image. The katya will serve as the
class banner/poster/print ad.
• The design of the katya must represent their class' image,
in line with their class' live presentation.
• Each banner design must use a blue palette (TJMA Logo
colors).
• The banner must contain the name of the Section (ex:
4M9) and the initials of the organization, TJMA.
• Criteria for Judging are as follows:
o Originality 25%
o Over-all Visual Impact 25%
 Creativity and Artistry
o Relevance 25%
o Content / Substance 25%
o TOTAL: 100%

12. The following are the awards to be given:

1. The order of presentation will be done via drawlot of the class
Presidents on August 29, 2009.
2. The arrangement of the sections inside the auditorium will also
be via drawlot. (Medicine Auditorium's seat plan will be the basis)
