Creating Kaspersky Installation Package for Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8.1.0.

Kaspersky Lab has released Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042). CF2 will fix the issues found here.
**Not all fixes are listed under the release note. Only critical fixes are listed.
The following two things will have to be done for managing and deploying Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2
(8.1.0.1042) from Kaspersky Security Center 9.
1. Install Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042) Plug-in (Page 1)
2. Create Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042) Installation package (Page 2)

Install Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042) Plug-in


First, the Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042) plug-in will need to be installed.
1. Download Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042) here.
2. Extract kes8.1.0.1042_wksfswin_en.exe
a. Run kes8.1.0.1042_wksfswin_en.exe locally on Kaspersky Security Center server
b. Click Install
i. Take note of the Destination folder

c. kes8.1.0.1042_wksfswin_en.exe will extract the installation files.


d. After the extraction is done, the setup wizard will start. Cancel the installation.
e. With the Kaspersky Security Center console closed, run C: \kav\KESWin8\english\klcfginst.exe

f. Verify that the Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042) Plug-in was installed. (Properties of the Main Administration Server

**The plug-in will allow the Kaspersky Security Center to manage Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042)

Create Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042) Installation package


After the plug-in is successfully installed, the installation package can be created. The Kaspersky Endpoint Security
8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042) installation package will be created in Repositories
Installation packages. Follow the instructions bellow to create the Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042) installation package:
1. Click Create installation package

2. Specify a name for the Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042) installation package

3. Click Next
4. Select Create Kaspersky Lab applications installation package
5. Click Select then browse to C:\kav\KES8win\english\ and select Kes8win.kpd file

** C:\kav\KES8Win\english\ is the default path that


kes8.1.0.1042_wksfswin_en.exe extracted to. The path can
be changed during the extraction.
6. Verify that Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042)
installation package was correctly specified and click Next
7. Click Next
8. Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042) installation
package will start to be created

9. Click Finish

10. Verify that the Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2


(8.1.0.1042) installation package was created
**Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 CF 2 (8.1.0.1042) will
now be available to be deployed and managed from the
Kaspersky Security Center
