I recommend Phoenix 2012.04.xxx for N8, C7, E7, X7, C6-01, E6, 700, 701, 603 & 500
and
Phoenix 2012.16.xxx for 808,
if you ever installed a higher version of Phoenix, then you must deinstall it first.
Get it and install it to Windows with your Anti-Virus OFF.
You have to trust me on this one. If you can't trust me, then stop here, because if you don't turn your anti-virus off, then you can NOT flash
If you don't believe me, then Google it, and every flashing or installation guide worldwide will tell you the same.

New window appears
now there are 2 ways to go about this, depending on what you want to / need to do:
- dead flash
= your phone doesn't turn on anymore and you need to get it back to life
--> in this case, the top dropdown window should read: "NO CONNECTION" and the [ ] dead phone USB flashing should be ticked
! Update Software will not work here
- live flash
you want to flash via Software update or refurbish and the phone is still working
--> in this case the dead phone USB flashing box can not be ticked
--> and the top dropdown window should read USBX - RM-XXX
(X stands for numbers, depending on which USB you are connected to and which phone you are flashing)

either way the line "Product Code", "SW Version" and "Variant" must be filled now
- if you connected live and chose your USBX, then it will be added automatically
- if you have a dead phone, then you must push the button at the end of Line "product code" and choose the only available set
-> why only one available set? - BECAUSE I said ONLY ONE Firmware set in the RM Folder!

Before flashing:
push "OPTIONS" and you will receive this window:

in this case I am flashing a custom firmware. a custom firmware won't have the .emmc.fpsx (a.k.a. emmc) in it. Most of the time you will
only use the emmc, when flashing back to original firmware, for example when you want to sell your phone
so in my case I will click the red emmc and then push delete.
------------------------------------------If you want to Update a firmware without of removing content from drive C:\, mark the file which ends with "uda.fpsx", than push delete.
This is the case if you update a Delight CFW to a higher release, check the related informations in every Delight CFW release post.
Than you should press Update Software instead of Refurbish (see next step).
------------------------------------------! NEVER EVER - click any of the boxes in the flashing options window. You can't do that stuff on free versions of Phoenix.
! NO - you can NOT downgrade if clicking the first button - you can ONLY downgrade Generation^1 phones, and then you would NOT click
that box either !!!
! If you refurbish without of UDA.fpsx your phone doesn't boot at first startup, remove the battery or with a N8 press power key for 12
seconds, than boot.
back to the window before with OK
then Refurbish or Update Software.
While flashing
you will see a flash log running in the Output window
as soon as it says programming complete, it is actually done.
in some occasions, you can pull the USB now and either take battery out or on N8 you would press the power button for 12 sec, which is the
same as battery out
and then start the phone
Thats it

1. "waiting for communication"-countdown - if you ever get the countdown, starting at 25, then pull the USB - BEFORE - it gets to "0"
- Zero and then pull battery and then insert and start the phone - its done flashing, so it is OK the way it is.
2. "phoenix crashed - Pheonix Dump window" - IF the phone is being flashed in the background, then DO NOT press OK in that
window, just ignore it and wait till phone flashing is done
3. "Dongle not found" window - either your RM folder isn't named right, or it is in the wrong spot, or you do not have a "free" version
of Phoenix
4. Phone gets flashed, but is always original firmware - if you ever updated your phone via Nokia Suite, then the files that Nokia
Suite used could cause problems in Phoenix. SO you must go to your Computers Windows settings and tell it to show hidden folders.
then go to C:/ProgramData/Nokia/packages and delete the firmware files

Windows 7 64 bit OS and even with full permissions and no hidden files it would list not my

all N8 have a Arm with 800mHz , downclocked by Nokia to 680. There is no way to change that. And if someone says he
did so, then he is wrong

AFAIK Phoenix won't run on Win8. You need a VM or a older Windows. And don't forget to install with your anti-virus OFF
If you are talking about phoenix, then your phoenix is way too old. get the one in the link I posted here.
If you are talking about the RM-596 folder on your computer, then you have to make that folder yourself

you can't flash the Nokia 500 files onto your Nokia 701. Be Happy it didn't work , or your phone would be

are you really sure that you have RM-469? Because there is another E52 that has RM-481. Check your Phone. There has to be a
sticker somewhere or inbranded in the plastik where it says which RM number it has

then you flashed the v6.0 base files. You must download the base files from v6.3 and your language, then flash it via
Software Update without uda and after it is booted use Delight app Updater and run all updates
Reply
yes, if you flash via Software update without uda and use the Delight app Updater after its flashed, then yes
Eric Dempsey
Yes, backup with inbuilt backup function and Nokia Suite. Since you are using Belle refresh, you can restore it afterwards.
At least it will work with everything, except maybe settings and data, depending on what you have on your phone.
then flash it via refurbish. restore your data and enjoy

1. Turn on the "Moresoundinloudspeaker " patch, it has a side effect to lower the headset volume. 2. I don't know, never
happened before. Do you have a security lock on it?
Eric Dempsey
no, just renaming a file won't work. But if you are using the N8, or C7 or 500, then you can flash with the default sound
rofs3 by extracting it
Reply
Use Rompatcher patches to get higher Volume. But do NOT turn on "MoreSoundInLoudspeaker", because it has the side
effect of making the headphones quiet again
Eric Dempsey
easy: get v6.3 base files and language files if needed. flash via Software Update without uda (the place where you delete
the red emmc, you delete the uda)
after flash go and use Delight app, run Updater, yes to update to v6.2, yes to Update to v6.3
done

it is not mandatory to remove Sim and Sdcard. It's also not mandatory to format E or F, which only has to be done , if a
malfunctioning install is causing problems. 2. You have to extract the Delight.exe files you downloaded. The base files
rofs2 is only english, you extract the italian one and copy it over the other one and replace when prompted. All you have
to do is read posts and tutorials, and it will be fine
Eric Dempsey
use Delight app to move conversation skin to C, or take your own picture , rename it to delight.jpg and then it will work
Reply
if it is your first flash you have to refurbish. Phone off = dead flash. Phone On = live flash

I use Windows 64bit and run it as is. No compatibility mod or nothing. And it shows me all my 5usbs without any issues.
Not sure why you have problems with it
Eric Dempsey
did you install phoenix with your antivirus and firewalls OFF?
Eric Dempsey
deinstall Phoenix from your computer totally, reboot it, reinstall with Anti virus OFF. Connect your phone to reinstall your
drivers. Then turn phoenix back on and try again

sounds like you did everything right. Only Problem is, you don't have all the files needed to flash. You need: *core.fpsx,
*rofs2.fpsx, *rofs3.fpsx, *uda.fpsx, a *vpl, *.bin, *Ape_eno*, and one more..... Go to mr.crab.net and get the whole
firmware
Reply
yes, that could be the cause . Two ways: either do a dead flash or you can hardreset the device first , and then do a live
flash.

Reply
turn the phone ON first and wait till the drivers connect correcty. Or hardreset the phone first

I don't know what is going wrong there. I use a Win7 and run it normally in Win7 mose. Does the phone connect to your
computer at all? Can you see it in Windows/Computer drive window? Is the phone in Nokia Suite connection mode? Did
you try a dead flash ?
