How does you media product represent


particular social groups

The women Annabelle from the film 'Annabelle' is very similar to the main
character in our thriller. They both are young females who have a strong
belief. however although the character Annabelle is part of a cult which is
the belief of a religion which has a strong devotion to an object or event, the
Annabelle character makes a sacrifice which is the same as the character in
our thriller 'fixation'. Although our character has a strong belief in black
magic she also believes that a sacrifice has to be made to for fill what is
important in her world which is the same
as the character in Annabelle.

We decided on making a
young girl the main
character of the thriller
because she is
stereotypically presented
as innocent and loving and
usually plays the victim
we are able to go against
stereotypical views on
this type of social group by
turning her into an
obsessive character. as
shown in the appearance
both character Annabelle
and daisy are firstly
presented as innocent
young women
emphasizing their
innocence however the further you go into the thriller you are able to see
they both go off to create strong beliefs for extreme things creating a
completely different character to the audience. to show this both characters
are dressed in white gowns to show that there is still some innocents inside

of them yet have very dark makeup and erotic hair styles to emphasis the
change in character and give the impression of possible danger towards
other people.

Another one of our character is Charlie he is a young handsome young man


who is being stalked by an obsessive young women Daisy who takes things a
little too far and becomes involved in black magic which causes her to
commit suicide, however Daisy comes back to us in a paranormal way and
the stalker becomes a lot more extensive and violent. We chose to use a
young handsome man because the audience will then find some relation to
our Daisy character this being because they can see her attraction to him.
We also thought that he should present himself well by wearing tailored
trousers and a formal top, this way again the audience will understand the
attraction to the male character.

In this case I believe that our


character Charlie is very
similar to the character Derik out of obsessed. This being because he too is a
young handsome looking man who is also being stalked by obsessive
women. Although in the film obsessed, the stalking doesnt go to the
extreme of a death it is still quite intense.
