The Story:
Heidi lost her parents at her young age; she went to the high Swiss Alps at the village of Alm to
live together with her grandparents. Her irritable Grandpa and sightless Grandma then learned
to love their very fascinating granddaughter. Heidis Aunt Dete made her to be a companion to
Clara, an ill daughter of Mr. Sessemen from far away town of Dorfli.
The two girls became good friends, Clara taught Heidi to write and to read. But Claras tutor,
Miss Rottenmeier made life not easy for Heidi. The eight-year old girl Heidi seems to grown
thin, when a doctor checked her, she was advised to go have a vacation with her grandparents at
Alps.
Heidi went to her grandparents house together with the doctor to rest and spends vacation. The
doctor saw how warm, fresh the air and surrounding at the Alps that he thinks might helped
Claras condition. Upon returning to Dorfli, he encourages Mr. Sessemen to allow Clara to stay
with Heidi. Living there with fresh air and milk, simple life amazingly brings surprise. The kind
ill girl slowly started to walk on her own. Everyone was so happy for Clara, crying because of joy.
Mr. Sessemen and her daughter Clara returned to their town leaving tokens for the simple
village. And Clara swears to Heidi that she will spend her summer at the mountains with Heidi.
Comment:
A very inspiring story about a little girl that gave love and care for others even to animals. With
her good heart, she was loved and became dear to many people.
Cricket, Little Girl Of The Old West

The Story:
Together with her parents, Cricket travels to transfer from one camp to another. Her father Lt.
Robert Austin is from the 10th cavalry of the army. Cricket was a brave little girl; she never gets
scared even if the camp and soldiers were attacked by the Indians.
She is naturally friendly and giving to everyone. Cricket always think of others like to her Negro
playmates, she gave them candies, cookies even their cook Jane get anger of her. She also makes
the other army's wife laugh and entertain with her stories.
Cricket has a special friend; she is an Indian woman who was always defended by her. She is
always erroneously suspect to steal dimes and pies but then proved later that she never steals.
Cricket really has a pure heart in helping others because she gave away even her father's favorite
food.
Lt. Austin daughter also experience a lot of camp incidents. She even had a duckling pet that she
named Dawdling and she even arrange an interment when it dies. Time comes that a superior
officer wife came and want to have their house because of the beautiful Madeira vines. Cricket
saved their house for her mother's sake by cutting all the vines.
Cricket also helps out a half-class Indian maid Molly Brown marry a white man Mr. Hauser.
Afterward, Cricket was hostage by Indians and Molly helps her out to get away. And in return,
Cricket family did a way to reunite the couple by explaining to Molly that it is not humiliating for
a white man to wed an Indian girl like her.
Thoughts:
This is a story that features kindness, thoughtfulness and friendliness of the little brave girl
Cricket. She pleased everyone with her natural charm and good traits.
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

The Story:
There was a brilliant young girl named Alice who dreams that she lives in the world of wonders.
That she is taking care of a white rabbit on a way to the Wonderland where people with animals
share strange and blissful actions. While in Wonderland, Alice experience different challenging
adventures. Not knowing that the place is so different from where she came, she made unusual
faults that almost made her cry.
She became friends with different animals in the Wonderland like Duchess, a march hare,
dormouse, and the mad hatter. They make Alice familiar with the place and feel comfortable
with them. And Alice realized that these little animals are also like her, have and feeling and
good heart to others.
Alice became dear to the King and Queen of Wonderland, they made Alice stay in the land a
memorable one. But time come that she made a mistake that she face a trial in the Queen of
Hearts court. Thrilled to hear what are the cases that will charge to her, a winged creature flied
and land down on her shoulder in a unforgiving temper.
At the highest point, Alice rapidly gets conscious and learns that all was just a dream. She falls to
sleep at nearby river bank with her sister.
Thoughts:
A very lovely tale of Alice, that teaches us to love and care for animals because they have mind
and feelings too. Very ideal to share and tell to little children for them to learn that we should
not harm animals instead take care of them.
Background of the Study
Social Networking websites particularly the facebook is a big help for
everyone in terms of communication purpose and fun activities.
Young people especially the students are the primary users of
facebook. They used to open their facebook account to play,
communicate and explore different interesting information. Through
this, everyone can say that getting addicted with facebook will
greatly affect the students academic performances.
The young people especially the students nowadays are prone with
the use of different technologies. Sometimes, theyre getting tired in
doing their homework and in studying their lessons and because of
this, they rather surf on the internet and open their to have some
fun. Nonis and Hudson (2006) stated that students already spend
too lithe time studying due to their busy lives. Here in the
University Of Mindanao The College Of Accounting Education
students used to focus with their studies for their chosen course is
not that easy. If an accounting student get addicted to facebook and
spend too much time for, it definitely he will find it hard to deal with
his academic requirements.
In fact, there were many internet shops found outside the University
Of Mindanao which are found to be loaded by students in different
courses including the College of Accounting Education students. The
facebook addiction of the accounting education students is a great
challenge that they need to face in order for them to handle and
maintain their good performance in school.
The facebook addiction among students is a very popular issue that
still needs to be observed and solved by the students on their own.
They must learn to consider their behaviors in performing any
actions. Indeed, there is nothing wrong in using social Medias,
whats matter the most was the discipline within their own selves.

The Lark On The Wing

The Story:
A young girl from Heryot Friends School dreams to become a singer and don't want to be a
secretary to his professor father. Though most of the time Laura Haverard, a close relative make
fun of her thoughts. Also her other relatives always tell her that theres no benefit in singing.
When his father got ill he brought him to the French town of Rosayac. While dining in a cafe,
she was invited to sing and Kit graced the stage and sings few songs which amuse the happy
listeners. Returning to England finally Kit was so happy to permit by his father study singing.
At London, she was hired as typist stenographer and after office hours she finds time to have a
singing lesson to voice master Papa Andreas. Kit friend Laurence Cray and co-singer Terry
Chauntesinger encouraged her to pursue her studies. She also got acquainted with Felix, an
amateur singer who looks her a lot but he is just a friend to her. Laurence encourage her to sing
few songs at Lady Hilbery-Wapentake home and after most audience greeted her tenderly. After
then, she was offered to sing at the Silverbridge Chamber Concert Society that again mesmerized
the heart of the audiences.
And not so soon, the well-known Cuthbert Hilliard of Seahaven Pavillon offered her to be part of
symphony concerts. After singing "The Hill of the Lord" at the Heryot Festival, her singing
career got brilliant. Sad news came, Laurence died in India, it makes her cry and sad. But all
wounds heal, she then gave her heart to the one who encourage her in singing, Terry
Chauntesinger.
