JAR23 Amendment 3

This document provides JAR-23 Amendment 3, which replaces the current JAR-23 Amendment 2. JAR-23 provides the airworthiness standards for normal, utility, aerobatic, and commuter category aeroplanes. Following the establishment of EASA, the JAA decided future JAR amendments would incorporate EASA's Implementing Rules, Certification Specifications, and Acceptable Means of Compliance by reference. JAR-23 Amendment 3 is published in this manner, referencing and replacing the equivalent EASA certification standards. The amendment replaces the recipient's current version of JAR-23.

Please find attached a copy of JAR-23 Amendment 3 dated February 2007.

Following the establishment of the European Aviation Safety Agency in September
2003 and the adoption of EASA Implementing Rules (IR), Certification Specifications
(CS), and Acceptable Means of Compliance and Guidance Material (AMC) the Joint
Aviation Authorities Committee made the decision that in future the JAA would
publish amendments to the airworthiness JARs by incorporation of reference to
EASA Implementing Rules, AMC and CS. Such publications would have a JAA cover
letter with reference to the relevant EASA document, as well as any differences to it
agreed by the JAA.
The appended JAR-23 is published following this decision, and replaces your current
JAR-23 Amendment 2.
