Digital Plant
Context and objectives
An Oil&Gas client example
Client e-Novation group wished to draw the attention of the management on the
opportunities offered by existing and mature technologies for the production
sites of the Group. A prospective study was conducted to:
Highlight the gains in the short-term (security, reliability, usability, process
visibility, decision support) associated with some already mature technologies
used in other industries,
Propose the creation and support the implementation of 'digital plant' projects
in the branches to build upon disruptive changes from different technologies
presented in a realistic and pragmatic deployment path over the next five
years.
Business stakes for industrial sites
Give visibility for remote operators in situations of mobility within the
plants
Secure the interventions
Streamline the dissemination of knowledge and contextual accessibility
Increase the operational accuracy
Scan the business processes of the company
Store, organize, aggregate and enrich its data that then become the digital
capital of the company
Facilitate integration in the company of the digital generation by
integrating their expectations and new practices
New collaborative behaviors, multitasking and impatient
Great mastering of digital tools (web, video games, mobility)
Business stakes for industrial sites
Design digital factory for digital exploitation
Effective and controlled (safety, quality, productivity)
Transparent, scalable and continuous improvement
Generate for each industrial assets attached a digital copy enriched
continuously during its lifetime
Example: Upstream oil platform
