How to manually delete an Enterprise PDM file vault (archives and database)
Note! This procedure will completely delete a file vault from the servers hosting it any remaining file vault views on
clients using the deleted file vault will not function after this.
It is recommended that you first try to remove the file vault using the administration tool by right-clicking the file vault name
and select Remove. This will remove the database and archives for the vault.
If the removal via the administration tool fails for some reason (for example one of the servers no longer exist), you can
use these instructions to manually remove the file vault completely.

4. Remove the file vault name from the Vaults value under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SolidWorks\Applications\PDMWorks

Note that depending on EPDM language and how the root folder is configured, the key Archives might be
named something different. Find the key containing the REG_MULTI_SZ value named Vaults.

4. Expand Server Objects, Linked Servers. Delete the linked server named ArchiveIndex_FILEVAULTNAME.

NOTE!! This step is Irreversible and will remove the database. Make sure that you have a backup of the
database before deleting it in case you need to get it back for some reason.

If the normal removal of the view does not work, refer to KB solution S-012984 for manual instructions.
6. If the deleted vault still shows up in the administration tool on some clients it means the view is still left on the client, or
the key in step 5 was not deleted for the currently logged in profile. To remove it from the tree, right-click the archive
server name and select Refresh.
