Brake System For Go Kart

This document provides the parts and specifications needed for the brake system of a go kart, including a master cylinder, brake pads, 200mm disk rotor, and brake pipes. It recommends a billet hydraulic master cylinder and billet aluminum brake caliper. Cost estimates are provided for each part totaling around $200. Calculations determine the brake power, stopping distance, braking forces, and normal force on the disk based on the kart's weight, engine specs, and dimensions.

black body
Dot 3, Dot 4, or Dot 5 brake fluid
MCP Billet Hydraulic Brake Caliper Red
This high performance billet aluminum brake caliper features two 1 3/8" bore pistons
Exclusive design allows it to be adjusted for use with other rotor thicknesses (.125" to
.25")
Comes in 2 halves, which are then both mounted to a caliper bracket or brackets through
the 2 bolt holes.
The bolt hole spacing is 2.25" center-to-center and they fit 3/8" bolts.
