When Mother Teresa was a child she would
come home from school and fnd several
strangers eating at the dinner table. Who are
these people? she asked. Tey are distant
kinsmen. Her mother replied. Te truth was they
were the poor her mother was helping.
We cant help every person, cause or church,
but we can help some. John M. Buchannan
said, Nobody gets into heaven without a letter
of reference from the poor. Tat may not be
doctrinally correct, but Jesus does expect us to
help whenever we can. Be a blessing!
We have several men that have agreed to
serve as a deacon if approved by the church.
David Melton, Donnie Walker and Jim Meacham
will serve as Administrative Deacons. Tere are
also seven men to be ordained. With the churchs
approval on September 17, the following men,
Ray Berry, Dale Brown, Johnny Lachney, Buddy
Mesaris, Garrett Payton, Brian Robinson, and
Clint Sides will meet with an ordination council
on September 21. Tese are all devoted followers
of Christ and love this church. Pray for them and
this ministry.
Our Minister of Music Search Committee
continues to work hard. Tere have been many
interviews, much prayer and meaningful
conversations. We have had several promising
individuals, but God did not lead in that
direction. Keep praying.
I could use your help! Our next membership
class is this Sunday, September 14 at 9:20 a.m. It

who has been visiting here? Maybe they are in

them in worship. A personal invitation can make
all the diference. We also have an evening class

Thank You
As I sat down to thank people for their prayers,
cards, phone calls, food and visits for Marie, I quickly
realized Id be at it for quite some time and the
odds were pretty good I would miss someone. Te
outpouring of love and caring she received for the
last few months prior to her joining the Lord was
tremendous, and I cant begin to tell you how much
she and I appreciated and marveled at the compassion
and kindness you have shown to us. Tere still seems
to be some confusion about donations made to the
church made in her name and I sincerely apologize
for that. Any donations made to Eastmont in Maries
name will go to the Homebound Ministry, unless, of
course, you specify otherwise. Its an honor to be a
part of such a loving family of God. Tank you from
the bottom of my heart. God bless you all.
- Chuck (and Marie)
