Banaras in my view

Banaras is really an amazing place Banaras is the scared site, almost with the
power of spirituality of flowing Ganges. I already heard many things about
Banaras before coming here. I gained ideas on Banaras through tell of my
guardians in my childhood, from the photographs, and from the television
programs. Banaras is world famous as oldest Hindu place of Pilgrimage. Its
heritage architectures, historic temples and its spiritual environment with free
flowing Ganga attract every spiritual people of the world. When I firstly visited
Banaras Ghat it fascinated me. The heritage and scenic beauty of the holly
Ganges, great architectures, temples, colorful boats, rocky stairs, the localness of
Banaras city, the overall crowd and the whole spirituality made me glad. I respect
each and every elements of Ghat, which made me inspired directly or indirectly.
I never used to depict any particular subject to depict in my painting.
Whenever any subject, incident or anything else explode my emotion initially I
engaged with the matter to accomplish through my execution. Whatever ideas or
experiences I gather, I prefer to express at my best in my painting. As a result
previously I had done a series on Banaras Ghat. In these paintings I tried to
present the image of beyond really existing. Through my paintings I expressed a
visual statement of Ghat.
Through my ghat series I tried to interpret the actual image of the Ghat, the
ancient heritage with their persisting beauties. Every painting contained some
inherent visual statement of each & every elements of Ghat, which has been
conventionally expressing silently. I intended to give them a voice with their visual
statement.
The city, whatever the sentiment and ideology it embodies for an artist, also
provides a very convenient pictorial motif. The very architectural construct of the
city provides a usable vocabulary for conceiving, constructing, and designing a
pictorial fact. It is very difficult to understand the depth of the city but the limited
understanding with the conversation can also bring us the possible thoughts. The
reflection of the far away lights, the open sky speaking their own language with the
holy river, steps standing their own path on fronting with the waves the
architectural structure watching the whole scenario with its own moods trying to
convey the message to the humanity, excited me a lot and seems like trying to
encourage it to be a part of an eternal feel and emotion.
As time passes my tastes also changes, the new thoughts and experiences I
gathered inspired me to create something different always. At present my interest
is diverted to the versatile personalities dwelling in the Banaras city. My keen
interest developed to observe their characters & behaviors. Gradually I depicted
my works on Banaras Ghat along with the different mysterious personalities
existing here. And initially I am doing mostly figurative compositions. The central
objects of my composition become the human beings, along with the symbolic
presentation of Banaras Ghat on background. This time I have done versatile
thematic paintings as I have done a series of my painting named I am not lonely-
II. In these paintings I mostly emphasized to reach the mental standards of the
versatile characters surviving in Banaras. My central intention is to catch the
inherent mental status of the personalities- their urges, complex mentality, social
structures, environment which they create around themselves for their benefits etc.
its not only a fact of any specific area, which I symbolized through Banaras. Its
very common to every corner of our society.
Human is a social animal. So, he has to live within the society, but pursuing
the full freedom., society means, a binding, it has a boundary. Liberate means
not anti social, liberate in the sense being dwelling in the society by preventing us
from the conventional social law. A social structure is depends upon time,
situation, and environment. Every individual person has their hopes or desires. In
strive to fulfill their dreams even men ignore sometimes the social norms. They
simply avoid the aspects of fair or unfair deeds, just to achieve the target.
My intention is not to identify or point out, which is legal or illegal, well or
woe. From my concern both are fact. Both have their radical aspects. In their
pursuing definition both are fair.
As I believe in art as a social statement through which reality is depicted
through allegory. What I depict what I see, from my artistic perception. And this
perception helps to develop my imagery and which thereby becomes a part of
social reform. My ultimate aim is to search and impulse the aesthetic norms of
various physical, mental and spiritual consistencies of the happenings.
I would like to personify the city exchanging the thought with it to gain
knowledge and learn new things. The conversation never ends but it is sure that the
new visual perception can be learnt in each visit of Banaras and that is how
Banaras stays always in my heart.
