This thesis examined the relationship between the leadership styles of school administrators and the work motivation of classroom teachers. A survey was conducted of 25 principals and 90 school administrators in Davao City. The results found that the leadership styles of school administrators and the work motivation of teachers were related. Principals demonstrated high levels of visionary, coaching, affiliative, democratic, pacesetting and commanding leadership styles. Teachers also exhibited high levels of work motivation in terms of personal achievement, work environment, relationships with coworkers, and recognition. The study concluded that effective principal leadership is important for managing schools and motivating teachers.

'ro! the findings, the following conclusions were drawn( The high level of leadershi" styles of school "rinci"als in ter!s of visionary, coaching, affiliative, de!ocratic, "acesetting, and co!!anding reflect that the school "rinci"als establish good su"ervision in ter!s of the day to day affairs of the school. The high level of wor# !otivation in ter!s of "ersonal sense of achieve!ent, "hysical wor# setting)environ!ent, relationshi" with co-wor#ers, and recognition and award "rove that the classroo! teachers are highly co!!itted and !otivated to their "rofession. The high level of the leadershi" styles of school "rinci"als is a reflection that they are effective leaders and that they are able to !anage and su"ervise the day to day activities of the school geared towards the attain!ent of the school vision, !ission, and goal. n the light of the findings and conclusions, it is strongly reco!!ended that the De"art!ent of *ducation should design !ore trainings, conferences, se!inars and wor#sho"s to further enhance the s#ills and #nowledge of the school "rinci"als, teachers- in- charge, officers-in- charge, as well as head teachers.
