The study was conducted in the Districts of Bangoy, Tibungco, and
Bunawan, Davao City during the school year 2009-2010. t ai!ed to deter!ine
the relationshi" between the leadershi" styles of school ad!inistrators and wor#
!otivation of classroo! teachers. $sing the descri"tive-correlational !ethod of
research, the res"onses of the % "rinci"als and 9& school ad!inistrators were
correlated. t was found out that the leadershi" styles of school ad!inistrators
and wor# !otivation of classroo! teachers were related with each other. 'ro!
the findings, the following conclusions were drawn( The high level of leadershi"
styles of school "rinci"als in ter!s of visionary, coaching, affiliative, de!ocratic,
"acesetting, and co!!anding reflect that the school "rinci"als establish good
su"ervision in ter!s of the day to day affairs of the school. The high level of
wor# !otivation in ter!s of "ersonal sense of achieve!ent, "hysical wor#
setting)environ!ent, relationshi" with co-wor#ers, and recognition and award
"rove that the classroo! teachers are highly co!!itted and !otivated to their
"rofession. The high level of the leadershi" styles of school "rinci"als is a
reflection that they are effective leaders and that they are able to !anage and
su"ervise the day to day activities of the school geared towards the attain!ent of
the school vision, !ission, and goal. n the light of the findings and conclusions,
it is strongly reco!!ended that the De"art!ent of *ducation should design
!ore trainings, conferences, se!inars and wor#sho"s to further enhance the
s#ills and #nowledge of the school "rinci"als, teachers- in- charge, officers-in-
charge, as well as head teachers. The school "rinci"als !ust lead their
vii
classroo! teachers for the attain!ent of the school vision, !ission and goal in
consonance with the country+s national develo"!ent ob,ectives. They should
always be o"en and #ee" "ace with whatever current educational trends,
innovations and thrusts to !a#e !ore ade"t to the De"*d curricular
develo"!ent. The classroo! teachers the!selves should reinforce their drive
and !otivation so as to be !ore interested and co!!itted to their "rofession. f
"ro"erly !otivated the classroo! teachers would !a#e their teaching-learning
as an intellectual ,ourney to !otivate learners to learn !ore, hence, -uality and
e.cellence in instruction will be attained. 'inally, other researchers !ay conduct
further study focused on the leadershi" styles of school "rinci"als and wor#
!otivation of classroo! teachers both "rivate and "ublic ele!entary schools to
establish the study+s e.ternal validity.
