We are delighted to present young mentors of MBA programme in our B-School. IMS has
been a pioneer Institute in private sector grooming budding managers. We are today known
as one of the reputed business schools in the country and also known for the rigorous aca-
demic programme and management training.
Indian industry is now at the threshold of emerging as a major economic force. This provides ample opportunities as well as chal-
lenges unheard of so far. Future managers should have the ability, willingness and right value orientation to convert these chal-
lenges into profitable opportunities to make India a developed nation. At IMS we firmly believe that a good B-School should not
only focus on developing managers or even successful leaders but responsible citizens who will serve as role models for others.
Our students are trained to face present day challenges and to use them skills to define the future of management.

The M.B.A. program at IMS has enjoyed many past successes thanks to the generosity of
the Rampuria Group, devoted alumni, and a phenomenally supportive industry. Under
the outstanding leadership of past Directors, we have grown over the past 24 years from a
good program into a great School! We are highly ranked in virtually every category by
which Indian academic programs are measured. Through its, exceptional teaching standards, and industry partnerships, the
School is leading the way in delivering the industry’s future leaders.
Despite our focus on that future, we have continued to enhance those strengths that have anchored our past success of provid-
ing outstanding postgraduate degree in Management. We have doubled our postgraduate enrollment in order to meet the in-
dustry’s needs for tomorrow’s leaders, and at the same time started and tripled undergraduate enrollment in just a span of four
years.
We have always dedicated ourselves to research in the industry’s most challenging arenas as we continue to embrace the use of
management professionals in our teaching curriculum, research endeavors, and service opportunities. Their experience and

Sandeep Singhal
Head – Institutional Equity Derivatives Business

Sandeep Singal is presently heading institutional equity derivatives business at one of the leading brokerage
houses in India. He has served Bombay Stock Exchange in initial days of his career. He has significant contri-
bution in launching equity derivatives in India and bringing it to this stage. His views on the subject are car-
ried in print and electronic media as an expert.
“I am an engineer by training and an enthusiastic activity oriented person. IMS gave me purpose and perspective in my activi-
ties on both personal and professional front. The curriculum transpired various organizational aspects to build and manage
an enterprise. It gave tremendous self confidence and leadership while organizing quiz, seminar, symposia and so many other

Caspian sea port city, Aktau, Kazakhstan

Dr. Kamal Kishore Sharma is currently serving as a CEO in the Global Steel Major ArcelorMittal at one of their pipe plants located
by the Caspian sea port city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Earlier he has worked with SAIL Bokaro Steel Plant where he got the job
through an all India Management Trainee entrance process and then in the Indian Civil Services group A Indian Railways Traffic
Service for 4 years. Later he got through CAT and did his PhD at IIM Ahmedabad before joining ArcelorMittal.

“It is an easy take for me to sum up the vast contribution of IMS to my career. Above all, it is here that I gained self confidence
and honed my public speaking, leadership and organizing skills. The university gold medal, the experience as convener of
student forum leading all college fests and activities from the front, the struggle to keep up to the demanding academic and
overall performance expectations from the then Director Dr. M.L.Mishra, the camaraderie with the senior and fellow students
and trying to match up to their capabilities, the drive to do well to be counted among the better management schools in its
forming years... there are countless of those memories which contributed to my personality over those two years. It is here I
realized what I am and what I am capable of and this period gave me the opportunity to improve where I was deficient in. For
getting my first job, the contribution of IMS-MBA to my CV was a University MBA and to me as a person was the confidence
with which I faced my first job interview. The rest of my career is more a reflection of all my past education, this MBA and
how I fared at my first job and in general in life. The struggle at IMS gave me the confidence to take up myriad of challenges
and successes at those constantly built my career to what I am today.
My contribution to the current organization in the fields of Strategy and Overall Management from the CEO perspective has
to be seen more as coming from all the job experiences put together and also the management knowledge I gained at IMS and
IIMA. I am in their Global Leadership Team and have been hailed for keeping a Greenfield sick unit up and running despite
tough business environment in an erstwhile socialist country.”

The Institute
Institute of Management Studies, supported by some prominent citizens of Bikaner, was established in the year
1984 and has since been growing as a center of excellence in management education. In past the institute has
shown its quality performance by giving its nurtured brains to various reputed organizations. The institute was
awarded with grade 'A+' and 'A' according to surveys conducted by Business India in recent past.
The training to the budding managers is imparted by updating them with the functional knowledge and communi-
cating human dynamics in the context of global competition and cultural diversity. Special focus is laid on the needs
of the organizations working in this Global Village. Learning process is intensive and reinforced with individual as
well as group study, making use of both participative and interactive methods. Students of the institute have al-
ways stood as rank holders in the university and the alumni are a part of various multinational corporations and
public sector enterprises at senior positions in the country and abroad.
The Institute adopts a combination of Classroom teaching, case studies, guest lectures, seminars, industrial cum
educational tour, management games and quizzes, on job practical training etc. as a part of the routine curriculum
activities.

Knowledge Hub
The heart of the institute, library serving as an enriched source of useful information regarding various manage-
ment aspects can be rightly termed as knowledge bank. Its rich collection includes various national and interna-
tional journals, periodicals, books and handbooks, providing an excellent section of text and reference material on
the subjects of general ad specific interests to the participants. Apart from reference material it also forwards the
facility of audio and video cassettes and CD's supplementing the classroom lectures.

EDP Cell
To facilitate the competition in today's world, participants are also imparted computer education through various
courses in addition to the University prescribed syllabus. Besides the management faculty, the institute also houses
a center for electronic data processing and computer studies with computers connected on UNIX system. All partici-
pants have free access to internet. Knowledge of accounting packages is also imparted to enable the participants
apply to the same for analysis of data for field projects, Summer training projects.

Teaching Pedagogy
The institute has a well developed infrastructure to support the classroom teaching and other co-curricular activi-
ties. The institute also has various facilities to enable participants, to pursue their diverse educational programs.
Keeping in mind the need of all around development of the participants, opportunity is given for sports and outdoor
activities. Teleconferencing facilities are available for various courses of management programs. Video cam, LCD
and other electronic devices are used for recording purpose to analyze and evaluate the performance of students.

Guest Lectures
Guest Lectures - To invite eminent scholars and expertise from the field of commerce, organizational behaviors,
business environment, management is a phenomenal culture of the institute. Managers of NABARD and other com-
mercial banks and FI's are also invited for guest lectures.
