Our focus on quality begins from the raw material stage itself.
The raw materials used in body and glaze preparation are
mostly imported from reputed companies in the UK. There
are numerous quality checks during every stage in the body
and glaze preparation. The kilns which run on natural gas
are from U.K. with state of the art controls. The finished ware
is checked for various parameters such as water absorp-
tion, crazing resistance, resistance to chemicals, resistance
to staining and burning, abrasion based on European/British
and SASO standards.

Oman Ceramics Co. SAOG (OCC) was set up in the year
1999 to manufacture high quality vitreous china sanitaryware
primarily for exports to the discerning customers in western
Europe.
Its manufacturing plant, which boasts of the state-of-the-art plant and machinery and
technical knowhow, is located in Sohar in the Sultanate of Oman with reputed expe-
rienced technical knowhow.
The major raw materials for body namely ball clay and china clay are imported from
UK and almost all glaze materials are imported from reputed companies in UK or west
Europe.
The products of Oman Ceramics Company SAOG (OCC) are sold under the brand
name WAVE. Its products are exported to over twelve different countries and are avail-
able at over 500 outlets around the world. Primary markets where OCCs products
are sold in WAVE brand name in Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait,
Jordan, Syria, Srilanka etc.
We Export 30% of our production to U.K market which itself a testimonial for World
class Quality Sandards.
OCCs products meet the requirements of British Standards, SASO standards (Saudi
Arabian Standards Organization) and also approved by various prestigious consul-
tants, builders and Government organizations.
We have Quality Management system ISO 9001: 2008 from UKAS International Certifi-
cation agency. Our products are certified by KIWA,Netherland for its remarkable qual-
ity in the interntional market. CERAM which is the product certification body approved
our products for this european market. In addition to this OCC has third party certifi-
cate from EXOVA is the bench mark certificate for the gulf countries. Our products are
approved by Abu Dhabi Municipality, Ministry of Housing and Works, Kuwait, Ministry
of Defence Engineering Services, Diwan of Royal court, Royal Palace Affairs Oman,
Royal Oman Police, Ministry of Education, Oman Ministry of Housing, Electricity and
Water, Oman and other ministries in the Sultanate of Oman. OCC has supplied its
products to many prestigious projects in the U.A.E.
The product range available is vast and varies from the simple and elegant shapes to
the wild and exotic shapes, from the elegant shapes to the wild and exotic shapes,

tank. Holes can be interchanged on special request in the customers purchase order.
Two holes of dia 10mm are for retention purpose only. These shall not be used for bearing the load of the
tank. Tank should rest on mounting brackets for increased safety.

INLET VALVES
1. Normally all our fittings come with inlet valve to match with connectors.
If the connections in the building have 3/8 for any reason, a reducer of
x 3/8 shall be used.
2. All our close coupled cisterns come with the inlet at the bottom at the left
of the tank seen from front of the closet. If the inlet is required on right
side of the tank special mention shall be made in the order. As the tank
with right inlet is not kept in stock, a lead time of at least 2 weeks shall
be allowed for delivery.
3. Provision of an angle valve of good quality before the Cistern inlet is
very important for maintenance of closet cisterns
4. Use of flexible connector with Stainless Steel Braiding is more useful
than using rigid connectors of copper pipe etc. for ease of maintenance
and reliable leak proof connection. It will be very difficult for the plumbers
to do any repair work on the cistern inlet if the rigid pipes are used. They
break in few operations and also damage the thread on inlet valves.
WATER PRESSURE
All our cistern fittings sets have inlet valves with servo operation. The
advantage with this kind of valves is that the valves remain open with full
flow until final level is reached. This will ensure quick refilling of the tank
after flushing operation. The normal float lever operated valves slowly
reduce the flow rate as the level in the tank rises. This causes very slow
refilling of the tanks.
However, all the servo operated valves need minimum of 3 meters of
water head above the Cistern level. If the overhead tanks supplying
water to the cisterns is less than 3 meters, the inlet valves either do not
open at all or if they are open, they will not close again.
It is therefore very important to check pressure available at the cistern
inlet before asking for these fittings.
If the pressure is definitely less due to improper planning of pipelines,
position of over head tanks or due to the proximity of the overhead tank
(like the last floor in a multistorey building) only the float lever operated
valves shall be chosen. Please mention this to our sales staff for proper advice.
WATER PIPING
The piping from over head tank to the Cisterns shall be at least one size
higher than the Cistern inlet size. For example the angle valve used for
connection to cistern is , the piping from overhead tank to the valve
shall be at least . If more branches are taken from the same pipe the
pipe size shall be even bigger like 1.
It is tendency of some plumbers to use only size pipe from overhead
tank to all the points to reduce cost. This will seriously impair the function
of all the inlet valves. If the servo operated inlet valves are used with such
slow flow rate line they will not stop when the level is reached in the
cistern. The float lever operated valves take very large time to refill the
tank.
If the same pipe is used for supply form overhead tank to all the floors in
multistorey buildings, the bottom most floor get very good pressure and
the topmost floor do not get any pressure when the bottom floor taps
are opened.
It is always preferable to use different branch piping from the overhead
tank to each floor.
HEATING OF WATER IN THE PIPES DUE TO SUNLIGHT
If the water piping from over head tanks to the toilets is left exposed
to direct sunlight, the water temperature in the pipelines rises to as
high as 80C during summer. This water when entered in the cistern will
spoil all the plastic and rubber parts of the cistern fittings. It is therefore
recommended to conceal all the pipe lines with out exposure to direct
sunlight.
USE OF CHEMICALS
Excessive chlorination of water used for toilets will spoil all the plastic
and rubber parts of the cistern fittings. Only moderately chlorinated
water shall be used for toilets for prolonged life of toilet fittings.

SCALING OF WATER IN THE CISTERNS
Water with heavy calcium content will slowly scale and form deposits in the cistern.
The Inlet valve in our Cistern fittings set also comes with a filter. This filter also may get
clogged in due course due to scaling.
It is necessary to clean this filter at the bottom of the inlet valve by opening the connection
to the inlet valve. The filter can be cleaned by dipping in mild toilet cleaning acid.
The scaled deposits in the cistern and on the flush valve cause the flush valve to
continuously leak. It is necessary to add small amount of mild toilet cleaning acid to the
water in the cistern and flush 4 to 5 times so that all the scales are completely dissolved.
This operation shall be done only when necessary. Frequent cleaning of cistern parts
with acid or chemicals will spoil the plastic and rubber parts of cistern fittings.
FIRST FLUSHING OF OVERHEAD TANKS AND PIPES
All the pipes in building construction collect lots of dust and sand during the process
of installation and storage. The over head tanks also may collect sand and dirt during
installation and storage.
If the dust and sand from the overhead tank and pipes enter the cistern fittings, the fittings
will not function as the fine sand will block the filters, small holes of servo mechanisms
etc. The sand also will come in between the rubber seal and seats of inlet and outlet
valves and cause continuous leakage.
It is important to flush all the pipe lines and over head tanks properly with enough water
before connecting the pipes to cisterns.
ADJUSTMENT OF CISTERN WATER LEVEL
All our cistern fittings come with adjustable floats to correctly adjust the level in the
cistern. A red coloured Lock is provided on the stem of the inlet valve. Press this down
to hear click sound. Disengage the threaded bar from the float by turning it thinner side
to the front side. Pull the Float chamber up or down according to the level required.
Lock the float mechanism on the stem with the red lock. Re-engage the float screw in
to the float by keeping it pressed down. The float shall freely lift and fall after engaging
the screw in to it. If this is not free, water will continuously leak even after the level is
reached in the tank. In case of doubt please ask our representatives in your area. They
shall assist you in correctly adjusting the level.
OUT LET VALVES DUAL FLUSH AND SINGLE FLUSH
There is a choice of out let valves regarding flush operations. We can supply cistern
fittings with only with single flush or with Dual flush valves also.
Dual flush valves are useful where toilets are also used as urinals in saving water. In
these fittings one low flush button and one high flush button are provided separately.
Pushing of low flush button discharges small amount of water (3 or 4 liters) when the
toilet is used as Urinal. Pushing of High volume button ensures full discharge of water (6
or 8 liters) when the toilet is used in normal way.
The discharge volume is also adjustable in our fittings. Please refer to the instructions
sheet supplied with the fittings.
Dual flush valves save water where the toilets are often used only for urinal purpose.
However, both plumbers and end users must fully understand about their function and
use properly. Please ask for detailed presentation if needed.
STORAGE OF FITTINGS BEFORE INSTALLATION
All our cistern fittings contain Plastic or Rubbers parts. These parts are sensitive to direct
sunlight. The Plastic parts become brittle when kept under sunlight for longer time.
Application of even little tightening force will break the parts after exposure to direct
sunlight. Rubber parts become hard due to heat and loose their sealing abilities causing
leakages after installation. It is therefore recommended to keep the fittings inside their
cartons until use and store them under shade.
Also, if the fittings are stored along with other building materials, the dirt and sand enter
the parts and damage the parts. The sand and dirt come in the sealing areas and cause
leakages. Also, Plastic parts can get compressed and loose their shape. Care shall be
taken in storing the fittings to avoid damages.
USE OF PROPER TOOLS AND PROPER TIGHTENING FORCES
Only proper tools shall be used in tightening the nuts on inlet and outlet valves of Cistern
fittings. Using pipe wrenches and over tightening them causes damages to the fittings.
Fittings crack due to this and leak in usage.
USE OF SILICONE SEALANT
All the fittings are supplied with proper rubber sealing washers. Proper usage and
sufficient tightening will ensure no leakages in all cases. If there is a leakage, there
must be serious problem with some parts of the fittings or the Ceramics ware. Please
investigate and resolve the problem. Silicone sealant can react with the plastics and
cause slow damage. Also, the loose streaks of silicone can be carried to the small holes
in the inlet and outlet valves and block them. Avoid using silicone sealant on any plastic
parts. If required this may used only for dressing the gaps between the Ceramic ware
and walls or floors.
CARE IN HANDLING CABLE OPERATED OUTLET VALVE FITTINGS
Some of our Fittings come with Cable operated outlet valves. Care shall be taken during
handling of cable to prevent permanent bending of cable. The permanently twisted
cable will not move freely in the cable guide tube and the flush valves will not close
properly after flush due to this. Even during the maintenance, the shall not be allowed to
hang on the cable, the cable shall be detached from the knob for removal of the lids.
SELECTION OF WATER CLOSETS
The S- Trap Close coupled water closets perform well in flushing compared to any other
types. S- Trap closets need pre-planning of the drain piping in the floor. P- Trap Closets
are very useful for quick and easy installation as the drain pipe can be taken out of the
wall by making the hole as and when required without much pre-planning.
However, it is always required to keep the closet with its back to the outer v s.
Any other place other than outer wall requires long ducting.
Where there is limitation of space, Back to wall closets can be selected.
Wall hung closets allow cleaning access to all the toilets area.
However, back to wall or wall hung closets shall be chosen where there are plumbing
skills and engineering support is available as the cisterns need to be kept inside the
walls.
CISTERNS FOR BACK TO WALL AND WALL HUNG CLOSETS
There are several options of cisterns for Back to wall and Wall closets available.
Concealed Cisterns with ready made frames, Only concealed cisterns, In line flush
valves etc., are the options available.
Concealed cisterns with ready made frames are the best choice as they come along
with complete set of items including outlet pipes, inlet pipes fixing fasteners, dual flush
tanks with large and styled push buttons. Plumbers can directly install without the need to purchase any other
items.
The concealed cisterns are assembled inside the recess in the brick wall and front side
is panelled with waterproof plywood or Plastic panels etc. If required these panels also
can be covered with tiles to merge with the remaining walls.
In line flush valves are also of good option. However, these valves come with 1
connection. The piping from the Over head tank also shall be of same size for correct
flushing in this case. Smaller piping of 1/2 of will give improper flushing.
SEAT AND COVER FIXING FOR THE BACK TO WALL CLOSETS
Back to wall Closets and some models of Close coupled closets come with their back
side completely closed. There is no access for fixing of seat and cover screws in these
closets after installation. Only special top mounting fasteners shall be used for the seat
covers of such closets.
Even the inlet and outlets for such closets shall be fixed with slide on rubber seals or
bushes. Otherwise maintenance will be very difficult.
MOUNTING OF EUROPEAN WATER CLOSETS
There are two different methods of mounting of European water closets. One method
is using screws directly in to the mounting holes. In another method, first a brackets
are fixed to the floor and screws are inserted from the side of EWC and tightened. The
mounting method is fixed for a model and the model drawing includes the detail of
mounting method. Please check with our sales personnel in case of doubt.

places are marked on the wall.
2. 12mm. Hole is drilled on marked places and O12
plug is mounted.
3. The screw is squeezed in to the plug
4. Wash basin is mounted on to plastic bushings
and then M10 nut is tightened with a spanner.

1. Place the wash basin against the wall and mark
the place on wall where mounting brackets are to
be located.
2. Drill two mounting holes of O20mm of minimum
85 mm depth at a centre distance as per the table
below.

3. Insert the Fischer sleeve in to the holes.
4. Now take the M12 Bolt and insert the
mounting clamp and plain washer on the bolt
and screw the bolt in to the FICHER SLEEVE
such that the bottom portion of clamp just
touches the wall.
5. Now take the wash basin and place it against
the wall above the clamp portion and slide it
down till it rests snugly between the wall and
the rubber pads of the clamp.
6. Now tighten the bolts fully to get firm mounting
of the basin. Avoid over tightening, which
can result in\damaging the wash basin.

1. Place the brackets against the wall and mark the place on wall where wash basin is to be fixed.
2. Drill four mounting holes of 15mm dia of minimum 50mm depth at centre distance of brackets 230mm from
floor 590mm.
3. Insert the Fischer sleeve in to the holes.
4. Now take the M-8 bolt and fix the mounting brackets on the wall and tighten all bolts.
5. Place the wash basin on floor. Take the 2long hexagonal bolts with plain washer and rubber washer. Insert
the bolts in to side hole of wash basin and then hand tighten.
6. Fix the fittings including water and drain connections.
7. Then push the basin towards wall (from A) and tighten both side bolts with spanner. Insert plastic cap on
bolt head.
CAUTION- The wash basin is heavy and it is recommended that two persons, hold it while it is being fixed
