i) State four network control devices.
ii) What is subnet masking? State the subnet masks for class A,B and C of IP address.
iii) What is TCP and UDP?
iv) It is proposed to design a network with all the machines having equal priority and
without very strength security. Which network configuration would be appropriate
in this situation? State the reasons.
v) What is NIC? State its three functions.

protocols and justify your answer.

i) State whether troubleshooting in ring network is easy or difficult. Two possible
causes of failure in ring network. State whether ring is an Active or passive
network.
ii) Networking topologies are to be considered for a network for a Telemarketing
firm. Under what circumstances would a ring be less Appropriate than star?
iii) Which network topology is the most reliable topology? Why?
iv) Draw star bus topology connecting three star networks, each star Network consists
of four computers.
