What is Moodle?
Moodle is a free, web based, learning management system that educators can use to create online learning sites. It is a safe and secure environment where participants can access learning materials and communicate with their facilitators and other participants. Moodle can be scaled to hundreds of thousands of students or to a school or classroom level. It can be used to conduct fully online courses or to supplement face-to-face courses. Moodle comes with many resource and activity modules such as discussion forums, wikis, blogs, and chats, and it can be used for assignments, grades, and for file sharing between teachers and students.
Is Moodle secure?
Yes. Users of your Moodle site can be required to log in with a username and password before they can see any content on the site. Also, users can be assigned roles with varying degrees of access to site content and settings.
